It was a pleasure watching the screen adaption of the New York Times Best Selling Author, Angie Thomas’s: The Hate U Give, directed by George Tillman Jr. This, in my opinion, is the most important story to have hit cinemas in 2018. The injustice, gun-violence, grief, and on the contrary; what it means to stand up for what you believe in, what can happen when communities join forces, in addition to the remarkable change that can result from being willing to understand our differences, are all beautifully shown in this film.

! If you haven’t read the book or watched the film, head to your nearest bookstore and check it out when it hits theatres on October 19.
P.S. If you’re a big tear jerker like me, make sure you bring a small rag instead of tissue paper—so it doesn’t get stuck to your face! This is the heaviest I’ve ever cried while watching a film. My heart strings were SNATCHED—that’s how incredibly moved I was. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 @thehateugivemovie #TheHateUGive
