PERFECT TIMING. Today’s Gospel reflection by Ryan San Juan (John 2:1-11, January 20, 2019). Have you ever wanted something so bad, but it seems so impossible to have it? Sometimes, however, when what we want is something good, even if the odds seem stacked up against us, God always comes through for us. In today’s Gospel, Jesus and his mother were attending a wedding in Cana, when the wine ran out. This was a social and cultural disgrace, and would have been disastrous for the hosts. But while Jesus was initially hesitant to help, Mary’s pleas melted His stance. He miraculously turned six huge jars of water into the best wine that everyone present ever had! God will never allow nor give us anything that is bad for us. Sometimes, He withholds things that we fervently pray for because He is waiting for the right time, and our proper disposition to receive His blessings. Thus, what appears good to our human senses suddenly turns bad, and what appears bad eventually turns good, as soon as we have learned what we need to assimilate from our worldly trials and experiences. The fact is that He has already ordained what is true, good and beautiful for us, and will reveal the same to us in His most perfect time. #ChristIsEnough #ThyKingdomCome #TeamSJ #AmareEtLaborem
New blog posted, link in my profile. I've been a little MIA the past few days and that may continue for awhile. It's hard to focus on home decor and posting on Instagram when real life hits you like a ton of bricks. Many of you have been lifting us in prayer, and I sincerely appreciate it. My new blog post is titled, ’Is it ever okay to think the worst?’ I’d love for you to read it and let me know your thoughts. And an update on Natali to those of you who have been asking, unfortunately, we did not receive good news this week. Please keep praying. 🙏🏽 #blogging #blogger #prayerrequest #musings
Aspire |&| ascend
//my young life was filled with ambitions, dreams, |&| hope. My imagination was charged with big ideas |&| I created new worlds carved with unexpected and fortunate outcomes. Years go by |&| I started to become entrapped in a world overflowing with emptiness |&| I became consumed by work, stress, and fear. Thankfully, by the grace of God, this is interrupted by the hope found in living for something more//better yet, someone more.
//when we stop aspiring, we stop ascending.//
We stop striving for greatness because we lose our identity. I get it. Life is filled with challenges |&| suffering, but it doesn’t mean we should stop pursuing a more fulfilled life. If we get to caught up in the worldly ideals, our identity becomes confined to what we do instead of who we are first. Before we are anything else, we are sons and daughters of God. When we stop aspiring to live for someone more, we stop ascending toward the mountain top.
Place your identity as sons |&| daughters of a God who we will meet at the stop of our ascent//
Climb to greatness//
Bad leadership creates poverty and poverty reduces people to the point where all they think about is survival. At the level of survival, anything goes. Yahoo-yahoo, corruption, ritual killings, terrorism, political violence, kidnappings and the rest. Unfortunately at this point, the Church is between two choices. The Church cannot teach moral values because the people are entrenched in all forms of sin and illegality. Their guilt will keep them away. The Church also must not lie that God alone will solve all their survival problems.
So what role must the Church play? The Church must get actively involved in the politics of the nation. If you combine poverty with unemployment with insecurity with injustice, you will understand why the average Nigerian is religious. As the Church, individually and collectively we must do all we can to fix the politics of our nation. Think about it; if God wants the millions of His people healed, wouldn't it be more productive to have a healthcare system that works than have a few people gifted with the anointing to lay hands? No wonder you notice when Nigerians travel abroad that they don't seem to be as committed to Church activities as they were back home. Most of our reasons for devotion were a product of failed leadership. No wonder 'visa to the abroad' is a prayer point. If we understand the role of effective institutions and proper administration as God's children, why do we think God will be more into financial breakthrough meetings than human capital development? #ThyKingdomCome #Nigeria #Nigerians #Naija
GET TREATMENT: Today’s Gospel reflection by Ryan San Juan (Mark 2:13-17, January 19, 2019). We are all broken. At one point or another, we’ve all made the worst possible decisions and done things that we completely regret. And sometimes, we find it difficult, or even close to impossible, to even attempt to rise above our faults and indiscretions. In today’s Gospel, Jesus sought out Levi, a tax collector, and dined with him at his home, in the company of others like him. When the scribes questioned why Jesus was fraternizing with such sinners, He said: “Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do. I do not come to call the righteous but sinners.” The truth is, save for God, no one can ever be perfect, spotless or blameless. But for sure, everyone deserves a second, third, fourth or however much more chances are needed, to repent, reform and live a meaningful Christian life. We only need to desire and allow it, and God will cleanse even our biggest mistakes, sins and disappointments. Only He makes all things new and beautiful again. Even from ashes. #ChristIsEnough #ThyKingdomCome #TeamSJ #AmareEtLaborem
Being a misfit has felt like rejection my whole life. It’s how God made me, a square peg intentionally designed to fit into round holes. I didn’t get it. It was hard. What God intended for good, the enemy tried to manipulate to hurt me, wound me, and tempt me with insecurity. The devil had a grip on me for years, BUT GOD’s hand was always upon me. His anointing never left me. It wasn’t until I petitioned Heaven and denounced the spirit of fear [and the desire for man’s acceptance + celebration] that God delivered me and released me from the snakes snare. It’s been pretty awesome breathing in peace and freedom, actually learning to enjoy being the misfit that I am. Waking in purpose, living out His destiny for my life, armored up and surrounded by intercessors who cover me immensely and partner along with the Angel Armies of Heaven for my protection. Jesus’ love is so redeeming- it’s amazing that I’ve been put in positions to look into eyes that once judged + criticized me and look back with genuine love, forgiveness, and grace because I now know who I am + can love them for who God created them to be.🖤

LISTEN: Today’s Gospel reflection by Ryan San Juan (Mark 2:1-12, January 18, 2019). Do you ever feel like you’re losing a connection with someone who is otherwise close to you? Does it seem like you increasingly don’t understand their words and vice versa? Most times, the reason for misunderstandings, miscommunication or confusion is that we insist on what we think we hear rather than listen to what they want to say. In today’s Gospel, Jesus was curing a paralytic when He said: “Child, your sins are forgiven.” The scribes frowned upon this, calling it a blasphemy. Jesus replied: “Which is easier, to say... ‘Your sins are forgiven’, or... ‘Rise, pick up your mat, and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins on earth”—he said to the paralytic, “I say to you, rise up, pick your mat, and go home.” The man followed and all were astounded. God talks to us in many ways, every second of everyday. But sometimes, our humanness gets in the way of all the divine inspiration He gives. We are too caught up thinking of our weaknesses, limitations, brokenness and despair, that we fail to see Him nudging, even carrying us, towards the grand plans He has prepared for us. All we need to do is really to drown out our self-depreciating thoughts and listen and surrender to His wisdom and power. #ChristIsEnough #ThyKingdomCome #TeamSJ #AmareEtLaborem
KCM's mission includes praying faithfully for the fulfillment of Scripture. This is more than just praying for prophecy to be fulfilled, as Daniel did, but praying for Scipture to be carried out in the world and applied to our daily lives so we are truly living like Jesus is King.🛐📖➡🌍🕇=👑
For the month of January, KCM invites all Kingdom-minded Christ-followers to participate in this specific ministry of prayer for the fulfillment of Revelation 7:9-10.🇦🇼🇦🇽🇦🇿👥👥👥🗣🗣🗣🌍
"Deceived people don’t know it.
"...I suggest that we pray earnestly for the great reversal of deception necessary for the 'countless multitude' of Revelation 7 to come off victorious from the beast and worship the Lamb. .
"Our prayers at this time will be used to continue to open the eyes of the millions – dare we believe billions – of that countless multitude. .
"While these days may be part of what the Scripture calls 'the falling away,' let’s pray also that they will turn into the greatest harvest ever." (2 Thessalonians 3:1-3)

I know all about that striving life. Surrender is where it’s at.
This I testify:
Spoke with a good friend today about our faith experience and how culture and atmosphere play such a significant role in shaping how we show up. We tend to become what we see modeled for us. Yet, God will always have His way. For my friend and I, God opened up our eyes, let us see beyond the surface, confronted us with a reality we didn’t want to face and challenged us with questions about what we were going to do with revelation and how we were going to respond. Would be allow Him to heal our hearts and trust that His hand of protection and provision is upon us OR would we cave in, abandon our faith, become bitter and resentful OR would we keep on pretending, striving, playin the popularity game?
We stopped striving + surrendered. We decided to trust that God would heal our hearts. For both of us, that surrender resulted in miraculous doors of opportunity opening and new assignments being issued. We didn’t go looking for new opportunity, we didn’t knock on any door besides Heaven. God did it. And here we are....testifying to the beauty of surrender. Living it out.
Watching people come through our doors and being immediately captivated by His glory. So many texts, emails, conversations have been happening about feeling Holy Spirit from the parking lot. They come in expecting church to be what they’ve seen modeled, yet all that striving melts away and presence is what is experienced. It’s the POWER OF GOD not production that does this. It’s not polished preaching, it’s passion + prayer, prophecy + presence. Our priorities aren’t launching new campuses but stewarding the people God has entrusted to us well. Investing. Coaching. Loving. Empowering. Church plants will pop out of our house, not a fraction of a doubt. But it will be because God makes it so obvious and evident and we will just simply surrender + obey in faith.
So, with that said. Here’s your invitation. You could either read about it or write about it. 🖤

Last night in the Olive Grove, an unofficial extension of Moria Refugee Camp, there was a fire. Here you see the remains of burnt bunk beds, some of which housed entire families and all their possessions, already stripped away from their homes as they waited for safety and asylum.
On days when we're reminded that the world truly is not as it should be, not as it was meant to be, let us declare with Holy Spirit grit in our souls that our God is not a liar and that one day He will set all things right.
Let's commit to be a part of that story.
Last night was the monthly Azusa Ministers Association meeting. We are excited to be partnering with other Churches and leaders in the city to bring forth God’s Kingdom in Azusa! Truly, something special is beginning to happen!! #ThyKingdomCome
OUR LIVES ARE TESTIMONIES: Today’s Gospel reflection by Ryan San Juan (Mark 1:40-45, January 17, 2019). Are you a “walking miracle”? Have you been through the worst circumstances, but impossibly rose above the same and unbelievably survived? In today’s Gospel, Jesus cured a leper and sternly warned him not to tell anyone. But the leper could not contain his happiness and gratitude that he publicized his experience. As such, even if Jesus stayed in deserted places, people kept coming from all over just to see Him. Like the leper, we experience all sorts of pain and trauma in our lives, whether it be physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual. God allows all these bad things to happen to us, not because He doesn’t love us, but rather, because when we go through and overcome the same by faith, we can only become the best possible versions of ourselves! He doesn’t call the qualified to take on His toughest challenges; Rather, He qualifies whomever He calls! And the moment we realize that it is faith which turns our messes into messages and our tests into testimonies, God grants us the healing we ask for. Just like the leper, it will be impossible for us to keep such blessing to ourselves. Our healed and reformed lives, themselves, become the grandest testimonies of God’s infinite love, mercy and benevolence. #ChristIsEnough #ThyKingdomCome #TeamSJ #AmareEtLaborem
"Each year, the Holy Father asks for our prayers for a specific intention each month. You are invited to answer the Holy Father's request and to join with many people worldwide in praying for this intention each month. From time to time, the Holy Father may add a second prayer intention related to current events or urgent needs, like disaster relief. The second prayer request will help mobilize prayer and action related to the urgent situation." -USCCB

I asked @humble_hustler88
why he was so passionate about @victoriousattire.
He said it was because he finally felt like he had something to do for the Kingdom. He was able to provide visible ways for his family and friends to shine for God and to challenge the world's idea of how a Christian should dress. We're more than just button downs and long skirts. We've got style and creativity that go beyond just putting on our "Sunday Best".
