Hello Autumn, you’re well & truly here, aren’t you?
We woke up this morning & went on an adventure, wandering up through the woods above our house & exploring the countryside that looms around us. We swung on a rope swing, jumped over a stream, & walked downhill through magical woodland with a steep ravine just inches from our feet ... when we reached the bottom we discovered a sign warning walkers not to walk that way as the path was unstable & the woodland was not safe. Oops.
This afternoon was a different kind of adventure: Ikea! We finally have a mirror & a lampshade to put up in our bedroom!
How were your Saturdays?
British squirrels like to play with kids on summer afternoons, chasing them around Hyde Park. And that was very much true for Miss P as well. . . || design by @blushandmay
Rolling into the weekend like...
Surely everybody wants to be a cat. While I was working yesterday, this one took to sunning herself in the afternoon sunlight falling on the stairs. How many of us regularly take time to just ‘do nothing’ like this? No social media, no books, no TV, just sitting in the sun. It’s certainly been a while for me.
Happy Friday! I’m so excited for the weekend! Jack wanted to be in all my pictures this morning and he looked way better than me in most of them 😂 || I talked about this dress in my stories this morning. I got it in the spring from @shoppinkblush.
They don’t have it anymore on their site, but I did tag a couple other similar dresses for you, because I love them so much!! I’m happy that I’m finally wearing it to work. You can’t go wrong with a black dress and denim jacket! •

Guess who we found 😭😍 yay for lambie being safe.
One of Autumns finest, followed closely by welly wearing and hot chocolates 🍁
I’ve heard a lot of people talking recently about balancing more than one job, or juggling several different freelance avenues, rather than subscribing to the ‘normal’ ideology of having a 9-to-5 where you spend your life clinging to the rungs of the career ladder.
Is anyone else thinking ‘yup, that’s me’?
It’s been 3.5 years since I left full time employment, & I’ve never been happier. It’s all a little bit scary, not knowing how much money I’ll make each month, but I’m lucky enough to have an amazing part time job that offers a bit of stability in a shaky world.
I wouldn’t trade this for anything though; I love the variety. One day I might be sat at my laptop writing an article, the next (like Wednesday this week) I could be photographing beautiful flowers. In between, I might be managing someone’s Instagram account or working on my blog. Variety is the spice of life, right?!
I’d love to know your thoughts on multi-hyphened careers. Are you one job people, or do you dabble in a little bit of this & that?

Do you find yourself bringing your past into your future? 🙁
It doesn’t work well does it? 😳
The past few weeks God has been bringing me back to an important reference point of my life.
It’s amazing it’s like he is giving me a second chance, a do over.
This time around I am so much more aware of how my emotions and mindset go to a place of the past.
Even though I am back at a reference point, it’s not the past. I feel the spirit leading me to come back to where I originally walked away from God but this time he wants me to walk forward with my new self and not the things of the past.
Too many years I walked away from God. Too many years I have been living with regret, shame and a feeling that I needed to prove my worth.
Why do we do this to ourselves?
Why do we believe our way is better? Really?
He is God! We are just a human.
My prayer is for each one of you beautiful women to experience the higher life that God designed for you. That we would all let go of striving and trying to do life on our own. It will never measure up to God’s life for you, you will always feel incomplete and unfulfilled. May we experience the mind blowing experiences he brings as we let him lead us into the life he has for us. 🌸
I’m not a jewellery person. I like little fuss when getting dressed & usually just wear a few thin silver rings. My ears aren’t even pierced. But when I came across @linesandcurrent
I knew that this was the jewellery brand for me. Rebekah designs for ‘normal girls who work hard to keep it simple’, which works perfectly for me! I’m wearing the Luna necklace in sterling silver with a gold-plated Moon Sister crescent moon. See more over on my latest blog post (link in my profile) #gifted
Is your little one turning 1 soon? Thinking of doing a cake smash? It doesn't have to be extravagant or cost you tons of money--in fact, this little cake we made a few years ago was a sugar-free banana bread recipe baked in mini cake pans and iced with a cream cheese and applesauce "icing". 🍎 We prettied it up by adding a few little touches: a paper "1" topper, a mini bunting banner made out of straws and felt and a few woodsy greens from the backyard. Sometimes less is more 😊 📷 @danielasitarphotography
"draw the art you want to see, start the business you want to run,
play the music you want to hear, write the books you want to read, build the products you want to use -
do the work you want to see done."
read this quote in a book i've been reading for one of my classes and thought i'd share it with y'all :)
C here (with a new #blogpost
)! 👋 And, yes, it's true... I'm most in my element when I'm organizing. What can I say? Bringing order to chaos makes me happy 🤷♀️ Anyone else? Pretty sure it's my spiritual gift.
That's what I'm sharing about in this blog post! Practical closet advice that you can learn from. And something else I love... pretty baskets!
With this move came a lot of downsizing! A downsize is hard work, but totally possible. From 1 --> the purge, to 2 --> the organized dream closet. 👗👔 It is possible, friends! #linkinbio
London has so many atmospheres. It can be dark, mysterious, hipster, trashy, grimy, bright, beautiful. But this one is definitely quaint ✨
Rain came to us here in the desert yesterday. And something about it brought a much needed reprieve from all the stress that has been so present in my life lately.
It made me aware of just how stressed I’ve been, that this rainy day had such a meaning of hope and brought so much comfort to me. I love that Our God can make such little things so beautiful and so full of meaning.
Yes, this adult life is harder than I thought it would be. Marriage, motherhood, living in Arizona— day in and day out, it’s no easy task. But what I never anticipated was how joyous the difficult times would be. Love is a choice, and you can choose it amidst bliss or amidst struggle. And even when I’m struggling to get through the day, if I take a step back, I remember that there’s nowhere I’d rather be than in the thick of it with my family. Despite my feelings of depletion or anger or despair or anxiousness, I know that it is all worth it. Love is always worth it.
And God never fails to send me a sweet moment when I’m tired of struggling. He knows what I need, He never gives me more than I can handle. What a Heavenly Father we have. So thank You, Jesus, for the rain ♥️
I’ve just published a new post on my blog, sharing a few recent discoveries & inspiration. Follow the link in my profile to read more about this beautiful @sondeflor

Winds cannot hide the upcoming spring. Greens get deeper, while earth smiles in flowers.
Why do we spend so much wasted time on hate? 🙁
What’s the point since it has an expiration date?
Why don’t we spend more time on something that is long term? ❤️ Why don’t we take the time and invest in learning how to love more? 🌸
Angsty teen @ 24, a novel by me.

Last week my brother-in-law @aaronhoug
asked this babe to marry him and I couldn’t be more excited for the two of them to begin their lives together!
I have had the privilege of watching these two grow immensely in their relationship, as individuals, through their careers and their walk with the Lord...I am oh so proud of the people they are becoming!
I’ve never had a sister before but always wanted one- so thank you Aaron for choosing so well and thank you Lord for your provision!
Congratulations you two 💕 I love you more than words can express!
