• CANOE BELIEVE IT • The Mayan ruins at Tulum are one of the few walled fortresses in Mexico, with three walls protecting the ancient city and the fourth barrier due to the high cliffs along the Caribbean Sea. It's seaside location also meant that it was also a major part, trading goods such as copper, salt, jade, textiles and gold via canoes along the Yucutan Peninsula. It's amazing to think of the Mayans travelling so far across the ocean in tiny canoes, carrying all those incredible goodies! 🛶
• MEXI-GO • So we've arrived in Mexico and just, WOW 😍 In this Instagram age of 5am wake up calls and Lightoom presets and Photoshop, I always assume somewhere won't look quite as perfect as the photos. But so far, Mexico is living up to the hype! This cenote at @tankahtulum
was filled with catfish, stalagtites and bats! Utterly magical to swim in ✨
