SURE WORD DAILY DEVOTIONAL
THE WORD FOR TODAY
: THE GUILT OF THE PAST! ( PT. 2)
Psalms 32:5 (KJV) I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin.
Hebrews 8:12 (KJV) For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
So many people today are still beating themselves down over some wrong things they did several years ago. The guilty conscience of the past is telling them to remain in shackles. Though they’ve asked God to forgive them a thousand times, but can’t let it go. They go around living depressed, defeated and feeling unworthy. If that’s you, realize today the price has already been paid. The first time you asked God to forgive you, He forgave you. Now you’ve got to receive God’s mercy, forgive yourself and press ahead. Hebrews 8:12 (NRSV) For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more." # Beloved, all God want from you is genuine repentance via Godly sorrow, just like that of David, be sincere in your confession and as you receive His forgiveness, He doesn't want you to repeat that mistake again! Hear what Jesus told that woman; John 8:11 (NRSV) She said, "No one, sir." And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you. Go your way, and from now on do not sin again." # That mistake did not change who you are to God. You may have made mistakes yesterday, but because of the blood of Jesus, you are still your Father’s child. You are still the apple of God’s eye. You are still His most prized possession. God may not be pleased with every action, but He is pleased when you receive His forgiveness by faith and cease from that error.
Friend, can I ask you a question? If God says He won't remember Your sins anymore, why are you still holding on to what God has forgotten? Are you wiser than God? Hear Him again; Hebrews 8:12 (NRSV) For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more." Free yourself from THE GUILT OF THE PAST, because God has set you free!
