Can’t wait for the days when you don’t have to look like the Michelin Man while racing... #cupidschase5k
18 solo miles this morning. Weather was nice, people were friendly. I was able to run the last 6 at goal marathon pace on tired legs. ✅✅✅
Eyes on the prize.
Final big session before running Tokyo in 2 weeks. 2:07 bike, 29min run & 15min bike brick session, the first of many brick sessions.
Bike 48.2 miles @ 22.8mph - 224w
Run 3.5 miles @ 8:12
Bike 3.1 miles @ 12.4mph - 127w
Tomorrow has an hour of hill reps on the menu with a 70min easy run and 2km swim time trial on Tuesday.
Two & half hours of easy paced running, legs ache more than last weeks 20 miles but that’s a wrap. The last long run before Tokyo. Just a three hour brick session tomorrow then it’s a mixture of speed work, a few easy runs, bike work and swims.
17 MILES ❤️😍 The best & most enjoyable run in a LONG time, everything just clicked and I am absolutely over the moon with my pace. 50 days until @manchestermarathon
& that was such a confident boost 🙌🏼🏃🏼♀️
Another one in the bag. 10 more runs on the plan before Tokyo. Today was a medium tempo run, two 4k blocks at 7:20 with 1k warm up, cool down & recovery at 9:00.
Love all the stretching posts they have up at the museum right now.
13.1 miles done. That wasn’t the distance I had in mind or the pace I wanted to run at and certainly not what was on my training plan but I ran and it is miles in the bank and it’s sunny and fairly mild so who cares? Not me.
So the official plan was a 95min distance swim, as you might notice, I wasn’t swimming but we’ll get on to that. I decided I would run 12 miles at marathon pace but 4 miles in I just didn’t feel good, I nearly turned back which would have given me 8 miles but pushed on to 5 and then 6 at which point I swapped the plan to 6 @ MP and 6 easy and took a different route back which turned out to be 7 miles and omg it felt never ending. So in a nutshell, the 12 mile run that nearly ended at 4 turned into a half marathon 🙄
Let’s go back 24hrs cus I didn’t post last night... Wednesday’s plan was a 1hr tempo ride and 12 mile run at MP. I did the ride in the morning and was going to run after my daughter had gone to bed. I got the post which reminded me of dad (see my insta story) which is a great thing but I just wasn’t in the mood or mindset for running so I pushed the 12 mile run to today. Sometimes you just have to miss a session and eat biscuits.
Today’s swim was 95mins which is too long to fit in the timeframe I have from dropping my daughter at nursery and getting home for work so I pushed that to the weekend and moved Fridays 1hr Swim to this morning but then just didn’t feel like it still so I didn’t do that either.
Not the best 24 hours and not the most motivational of posts, but hey that’s real life and shit happens.
Happy Valentines Day from Love Park. So... I used Strava today, and I must say, it handled the cold and crosswalks MUCH better than Nike+. Plus sooo much data that I love even though I don’t know what it means 😆🤷♀️
It is SO easy to get sucked into the social media black hole and believe that everyone runs a marathon and everyone manages to fit in all their training and hit their goals... however that isn’t true, social media is just the highlight.
Tonight I am struggling. I got home late from work which meant I didn’t get out for my run until 7:10, it took me so long to persuade myself to run & stick to the plan. Marathon Training is intense, wedding planning is ramping up and I’ve got a new job - whilst also trying to live my life and be a good fiancée, daughter, sister & friend. I’ve spent ALL evening being hard on myself, not even the run helped me switch off. Tomorrow is a new day so I will try again ❤️.

Woohoo, the plan mileage is picking up! That means next week is peak week, and then it’s all downhill to the finish.
