highlights day3: #poplife
cosplay contest. Because of well a lot of reasons I ended up having to really rush to get Cass ready in time for Fanx. I was really unhappy with how it turned out. Part of me wanted to ditch it, but I had friends doing cosplays from #rapunzelstangledadventure
and I didn’t want to let them down. Let me add here my friends are amazing and they made me feel so much better about my cosplay, but I was still unhappy with it.
My friends and I were walking past the poplife booth and we saw @therichardarthur
(formally theofficialariel an amazing cosplayer/makeup artist that I look up to so much) as well as a few other makeup artists/cosplayers/youtubers/voice actors (who’s intros I missed!)
As we passed the announcer said they were about to do a cosplay contest. With the guests judging. My friends went to get in line but I stayed behind because I didn’t “want Richard to see me in this costume I’m not proud of”. I went to sit down and take pictures for my friends, but I made eye contact with him. He seemed really excited to see my cosplay and he motioned for me to go get in line for the contest. So I joined my friends (because when someone you look up to tells you to get on stage you do it.) the contest was so fun and all the judges were so nice to everyone. In the end each guest judge picked three cosplays that were their favorite. And I feel so bad because the judge sitting next to Richard with the blue hair picked us and I don’t know her name! If anyone knows tell me because I want to thank her and Richard for making me feel so good about a cosplay I was so not proud of. Do I think Cass is the best cosplay I’ve ever done no, but I am at least now happy with it.
