Rylee and I took a day trip to Bickleton last Sunday to get our Christmas tree and spend some quality time together. We left the kids behind because we weren’t sure how the weather was going to be and as much as I wish they were with us it was so nice to just spend some quality time with my husband. We hardly go out by ourselves and I know we need to more because it is so important to focus on our marriage. I wouldn’t have two beautiful kiddos, a beautiful home, and all our extras without my amazing husband! All to often people just get comfortable with their daily routine and their spouse, husband or wife. We need to remember to take time for yourself of course but for your other half or best friend as well. We got home set up the tree, picked up the kids and brought them home to help decorate. That night I went to bed happy and content with how my day went and I want everyday to go like that and as long as I am happy with myself I can continue to grow personally, in my marriage, grow as a mother and grow as a role model to anyone watching. Each day I spend 30 min to an hour wiping the slate and preparing for the day. I do this early in the morning, so the positivity overcomes any negativity that maybe lurking.

Yes! I still struggle sometimes with my various mind shifts and new lifestyle. After believing I knew where my life was going and suddenly shifting what my future had in store... I still need time to figure out my emotions, my troubles (or as I like to call them my demons), my thoughts and my actions towards becoming a better version of myself. The introvert within still struggles, the abused battered woman still figuring it out herself, the constantly criticized single mom still finding herself... so yes, i do cancel plans, I do stay at home and I do rather stay and meditate at night if I feel my energy is being drained away from me. Until I can figure myself out, this will be me and if anyone feels the urge to walk out of my life because of it I am 💯 ok with it. -

What is it about holidays that you absolutely love? Free time, freedom, relaxation, more sleep, more time for hobbies, exploration, connection, feeling joyful, enjoying life more?
Now pick one aspect of holidaying that lights you up and brings you joy just thinking about it…….
Don’t overthink it, just go with whatever pops into your head first. How can you infuse your day to day life with some of this activity or emotion?
🔸Love reading? Can you carve 15-20mins for your favourite book?
🔸Craving more sleep? Can you go to bed 30mins earlier?
🔸Could do with more joy mid-week? How about putting a song on and dancing as if nobody's watching?
🔸Love chats? Can you call a friend or two for a quick natter during the week?
🔸Finding relaxing difficult? How about a hot bath one or two evenings a week?
All these activities create shifts pretty quickly and can be super energising & invigorating. Life is a sum of moments here and there which combined have a profound effect on how we perceive the world.

Life is meant to be enjoyable! How can you scatter moments of pleasure throughout the week so you don’t live from weekend to weekend or worse, holiday to holiday?

Make sure you take a breath to slow down during the silly season! Head to the beach, go for a morning walk or to your special sunset spot for a chill.

Oh, the faces of Jenn. For so long, selfies are the only pictures that I would post of myself online. I hated full body shots and hated the pictures that others would take of me because they would never get the right angle. Sure, I have been told how photogenic I am, how beautiful I am, and that I should be a model. Yet, I just couldn't see it. I struggled with my confidence but each day I put on a brave face in order to face the fears that raged war against me. My confidence has not happened overnight. It has come by getting up each day and doing the things I was afraid to do. It has grown more and more with each step that I have taken which is why I can now show my full body in a photo. I am not a size 2. I am a 22. Confidence does not come when you achieve your weightloss and fitness goals. It comes when you take the step to show yourself love. When you choose to do the very thing that scares you to death. I love me, I laugh at my imperfections and my fears and I live! Confidence has made me strong and made me want to take care of myself. Each day it grows more and more and each day, I take a closer step to being who I want to be. My only regret is waiting so long to put my fears in their place.
