I had myself a pretty bad weekend 😔... Its amazing how something so small can just trigger your Mental Health to go into over drive!!! On Saturday I had a weigh in, I had such a great week with workouts and my food!! Jumped on the scales and bam put on 700gs, yes i know 700gs seem so silly to get upset over!!! My partner and I have been struggling financially in a bad way, I've applied for so many jobs, either had no reply or got knocked back!! Plus my partners work had slowed right down... I'd been back to the gym for 1 week after having nearly 2 weeks off with a very very sick baby aswell, So seeing I had put on weight was just the icing on the cake, I went on a downward spiral, all I wanted to do was just throw in the towel, after crying all day (saturday) eating my feelings (yes I got chocolate 🍫)... I went to bed feeling yuck!! Woke up Sunday, sat down spoke to my partner who is just so supportive on how I was feeling about everything!! Without him and our baby boy I wouldnt be able to get back up after falling down!! I started life being lactose intolerant ( it wasn’t actually diagnosed until I was in my early 20s). I always tried to eat a healthy diet but I always felt bloated and uncomfortable. Then I was lucky( or unlucky depending how you look at it) to have gall stones. After the surgery I got to work with a nutritionist that was able to diagnose me with IBS. There were so many things I thought I could never eat again. And then I found Beachbody and Shakeology. I am so happy to say that I am able to follow a balanced plan and eat from all food groups without restrictions (including high fibre and dairy). I am now almost 2 years IBS symptom free. Healthcare workers: How do you balance the challenges from work with your everyday life?? . I feel that those who work in healthcare are in the GREATEST need for overall balance and wellness. Think about it. . We work long hours. Get minimal (if any) breaks to go to the bathroom, eat, drink, have time to decompress during our work day. We are constantly giving ourselves to others; to our patients, to their families, to our team, to the doctors, to our management. . We see and have to handle the most awful of the awful. And if we make a small mistake or miss something, a life could be significantly affected, if not lost. . We deal with the craziest of personalities and behavior. Truly see others at their worst on a daily basis. Watching family members crying over their sick or dying loved ones. Dealing with the gruesome, the disappointing, the tragic. . And then when the day is over. We are expected to leave everything we dealt with that day behind... Be a sweet mom, a loving wife, a supportive husband, a fun friend, put on a happy face. Is that realistic?? . So often I hear...”today calls for a margarita!” or “thank god for wine” or “so what are you going to drink when you get home tonight?” It’s the culture of the beast. The way we are expected to cope. Even those who eat the best or work out all the time still seem to result to alcohol many days to handle the stresses of work. . But some days I feel that this is not ok for me. I do not feel my best the next day when I try to enjoy one, two, sometimes three glasses of wine just to try and wind down from an insane day. . After days like this, I don’t have the energy to work out. I struggle to even convince myself to do yoga or to meditate. These are parts of my lifestyle I cherish, but days like this make it more challenging to take care of myself, when actually it is the time I need to the most. . Here’s to all the healthcare workers and first responders out there, who are putting their own wellbeing and their family time on the back burner while they are serving others. Sometimes we need to talk about the challenges. . So, I’ll ask again, how do you cope? You are incredible. Thank you for all you do!

So....sucking back some water for much need hydration, getting to messages, and finalizing people in the next virtual boot camp, because if I don’t do it, it won’t get done. 🙂 There are still some spots if you’re interested in this next 30 day program to JUMP START your fitness as we head full on into spring and say good riddance to winter 🥶 (for this year at least)! 😜 Message me for details 😀
Self Care Sunday YO! 🌻☀️ I definitely need a day to “do” less and just take care of myself. Whether thats just walking my dog, doing a couple of restorative yoga poses or getting some bodywork. What do you enjoy doing on your sundays? . . . I enjoyed my Sunday by getting brunch and mimosas and spending time with my little family and some friends! Going out helps me recharge. . . . Here are some tips to stay positive 1️⃣ Surrounding yourself with likeminded people. I cannot stress this enough! 2️⃣ Get moving! Exercise at least 30 minutes a day and you’ll notice a difference in how you feel. 3️⃣ Write down positive attributes about yourself and say them out loud (as silly as it sounds) 4️⃣ Think about what you’re thankful for!

I have shifted to a temporary 50+ hour a week schedule, so my posts have taken a back burner as I find a new flow. Here are two books I recently purchased and am loving. This weekend was one of those "no" to people for me. I sat my ass at home all day Saturday & a little bit today! . And you know what? It was AMAZING 😍 I usually feel SO guilty not doing anything, relaxing, or just taking time for ME. . I'm sure as hell glad I did & it's a good reminder that it's OKAY! Guy's sometimes you need to take a breath, relax, take a step back for YOU, or just be selfish & say "no I can't today". Because when's the last time you have? We learn how to work hard, but often we don't talk enough about resting. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ Rest was so important to God that He literally made a day for it. When we take a day of rest, it allows us to refocus, get our priorities in alignment, spend time with our loved ones, spend time with the Lord, and prepare for the week ahead. If this is not something you've ever done, I challenge you to take one day to rest each week. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ "Rest" looks different for everyone, so try out whatever feels right to you. It may mean just taking a day off work, it may be taking a break from social media. Whatever it may be, just start off small and see how it goes! ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀

"I just don't have time for that."⁣ ⁣ "My life is too busy, I can't add another thing."⁣ ⁣ This was me, and it's probably you, too. In this day and age, we are ALL so busy! Our lives are filled with work, appointments, kids' activities, you name it. ⁣ ⁣ Why is it, though, that as women and mothers we are putting everyone and everything else on our priority list...and our names are not even on there?!?⁣ ⁣ It's okay to make time for yourselves, ladies. Taking a little bit of time to meal prep on the weekends so you won't have to cook a bunch during the week, moving your body for 30 minutes a day to help you destress and feel better (even if that means waking up a little earlier), giving yourself some down time (which I'm still learning!!) are all things that could benefit us. ⁣ ⁣ We all work hard, and we're all busy. But we DESERVE to have a few minutes a day to focus on ourselves. What good are we to others if we aren't being good to ourselves??

Sunday mornings are the best because you don't have to feel guilty about lying in bed all morning with Netflix and coffee. I made it a rule for myself that I don't work on Sundays, and purposely plan out my week to allow for that. I use a paper planner + a digital calendar to make sure that all my ish gets finished before the week is over. Mostly so I can veg out and not feel guilty about it. Sunday, March 31st. 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. WATERCOLOR CUPCAKE WORKSHOP @Studio22 I am delighted to bring you this workshop where the subject of cupcakes is used to introduce or build on the wonderful medium of watercolors.  I love the look of a cupcake painted in watercolor paint. Painting them on a small canvas or the notecard size is quick and rewarding. These are so fun to paint and to send to others as a personalized hand painted notecard or put them in a fun 5x7 frame and display in your kitchen or pass on a s a gift! During the 3 hour workshop we will complete 3 different cupcakes. Watercolor has a unique personality.  I have been exploring this medium for over 11 years.  It still surprises me and excites me. I will guide you through the process with demos and then time for you to create your own three separate notecards. (Massage, yoga, getting your hair or nails done, reading a book, going for a walk,etc.) 2. Do at least one of those things on your list! 3. Reflect how you felt after you did something off of your list. You deserve to take time for yourself! And guess what you can decide how much time and what you want to do with that time!
