Ok enough is enough. August and September have been great times... Hen do, birthday fun, Barcelona, conferences, glitter balls, Malta, festivals... But good times don't always lead to a healthy body fueled with nutrition so I need to take action!!! October I am doing the "30 days to healthy living and beyond..." Yaaaa...we choose that! 🙆🏻♀️😲 We take the martyr role, telling ourselves this is the life of a mother and put everyone else first; because our kids deserve that. ...... Some of you may not agree with me but hear me out.
IF YOU DON’T STOP 🛑 THIS THOUGHT PROCESS, YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY WILL SUFFER. If you don’t start choosing to invest in yourself, develop yourself, treat yourself like someone you deeply love and care for, YOU will fade away. You will find yourself exhausted, anxious & depressed, unfulfilled, feeling guilty for feeling unfulfilled, out of shape and usually overweight because you’re not taking care of yourself, you’ll hate the mirror, have zero confidence, no drive, and you’ll find yourself stuck because you’ve taken on so much and you see no way out of it.
To my fellow Jesus following sisters, do you think THIS is the life the Lord died to give you? Is this your most authentic and Christ-like self to further the love, grace, and message of the gospel? Is THIS taking care of the body & temple God created?
No. No, it’s not. But we do it. Instead of being selfless like we’re telling ourselves we’re being, we’re actually being selfish because no one gets our best. Our marriage will suffer when we aren’t feeling sexy & confident. Our kids will suffer when we’re not showing up every day to lead them well by example. And the world suffers because we don’t choose to step into our unique passion and purpose God fueled us with.
Don’t let your light go dark mama. Choose to fuel your body, mind, and soul WELL. Choose kind words and a positive plan of action to get you into your most vibrant, healthy, strong self. This has nothing to do with vanity and everything to do with purpose. Let’s stop letting the devil win by suppressing our mission on this earth and start kicking him in the balls by choosing to show up and do God’s work. Let’s bring the joy, honor the struggle, and live this life fiercely with fire in our eyes every day.

Stress is a real doozy...Left ignored, it makes us check out mentally and get sick physically. It's real...hormones, blood pressure, organs malfunction, our emotions have savage physical symptoms. 🤒🤕🤢
Take no prisoners and don't make yourself one either, my dear. Supercharge your stress outlet with gratitude practice, talk it out with someone supportive, journal, cry it out in safety, work out, meditate, wlak in nature, eat more fruits and veggies, sleep early, surround yourself with inspiration and motivation, and most of all, cultivate self love. 🙏 What are your ways of handling stress when the world gets too much?
Sometimes our bodies tell us things in very gentle, subtle ways and sometimes they tell us things in a way more resembling a freight train. ⠀
My body told me this week to slow down by hitting me HARD with walking pneumonia. ⠀
I suddenly had no option but to slow down completely. ⠀
It’s hard to remember to slow down and do some of the more low key things that keep us centered and connected to God. Especially in seasons of productivity. But, my body knows better. ⠀
It’s unhealthy to push so hard for so long. ⠀
So, this week I am slowing down, whether I like it or not. ⠀
I choose to slow down and enjoy things like nature, prayer, literally smelling the roses, really being present wherever I am and with whomever I am with. ⠀
Don’t forget to slow down and connect before your body forces you to 😆🤒 ⠀

Taking care of my body is more than just eliminating the bad stuff. Too often we focus on the things we are taking out of our diet, the word ‘depriving’ even gets thrown around if what we choose to remove was a favorite go-to. While I agree there are plenty of toxins, chemicals, and hidden addictive ingredients in many of our processed foods, are you fueling your body with enough of the good stuff?
I think of my body as a machine, and in order for it to work it needs the best of the best nutrients, minerals, clean water, natural vitamins, and enough storage of avocados to function 😅🤣🙃🤷🏼♀️🥑

World Lung Day 2018... 25th September.
What has that to do with this or me?
I have bronchiectasis and exercise and spending as much time as possible outside keeps me healthy. Moving from a city to a rural area was the best decision ever, unless there is bad weather i am invariably to be found outdoors. Mercifully our garden is massive and....er....somewhat wild. So this was today's full time job. That wilderness area WILL be cleared!
Usual service will be resumed tomorrow.

This is what I heard other women saying when I first joined this fitness community. How in the world could a scoop of powder change your life?!
Now I drink this nutrient dense super foods teacher fuel shake every single day for my morning snack!
This past weekend we were away on vacation and I didn’t have my shake and I noticed a huge different. I was tired and hungry all day and I can honestly say, it was because I didn’t have my shake!
Yes they may seem expensive at first, but my health is something I’m willing to pay for. I don’t drink coffee, I hardly ever go to Starbucks, I don’t eat out regularly and I no longer need anything else between breakfast and lunch, so to me $4 a day is nothing!

SO the chiropractor I am seeing keeps saying the same things to me over & over so I should be freaking listening: drink plenty of water, keep yourself active, listen to your body. And I’ve been doing those things BUT not enough. So I’m holding myself accountable !!! My goals are...
💧 to drink a gallon of water a day (cause hydration is key)
🗣 listening to my body when it feels stiff - allowing it to stretch a lil & roll it out.
🚶🏼♀️getting 10,000 steps in a day because although I can’t do any vigorous workouts, I can make sure I’m keeping myself active & hitting some sort of goal.
The only thing on my mind is getting better and this can only help me! 🤩

Day 2: I am beyond sore considering yesterday was my first day really working out in a while. I went to an Orthopedic Surgeon (family friend) to see about my back. Looks like it is probably something with my Sacroiliac Joint and I need to keep doing the movements prescribed from Chiropractor and Yoga.
Today I am looking forward to the back workout and am excited to get back in. I missed this. Today I am also emphasizing the meal plan.
A nice piece of steak and 1 cup of rice with salsa for flavor. And always remember water! Drink drink drink water!!! Please you will feel 100x better. .

X-ray’s in! Got a big ol’ sprained hip! I’m so so happy that nothing is broken! Looks like I’ll be on the mend for a while! Hard not to get frustrated with lack of mobility, but it will be good to get back into my yoga practice! 🧘🏼♀️
