Of course it was Chest Day! Forced to miss yesterday, but still gotta get it in. Pretty happy with today's results too. Top set of 365 on flat, 275x5.5 on incline(vid), and a few sets of incline DBs with the 125s! Thank you @bigmill4life & @jjosh2011 for the help on those! Hit cables from all angles then moved on to triceps! All in all a great afternoon of making progress! Still having fun eating everything in sight too. I was on the track today for lunch because I forgot my ruck at home. Still put in some work thanks to @aerobiccapacity. Workout today was 4x600 meters at 2:36, 4x300 meters at 1:13, 4x500 at 2:04, and 4x200 at :46. 2 minutes rest between reps and 5 minutes rest between sets. Hit my splits despite this workout being my first running workout in a long time. I’ve been getting back into yoga the past month. When I was lifting heavy all the time for the past few years, I admit I let my yoga practice slip. I still understood the value of it; flexibility, breathing & mindfulness, but when I was training for 2 hours a day it simply fell to the wayside. - The past couple of months have been rough mentally and physically. From depression, anxiety, painful AF menstrual cycles and recovering from some injuries, it came time for me to have a reality check. All of these things cropping up were signs I needed a wake up call to slow TF down. - Balance is essential to our lives. Going balls-to-the-wall in one thing will certainly help us become great at that one thing. At the same time, we need to take care of ourselves mentally & physically to become great and excel at our goals too. We need to think about longevity. - You don’t have to do yoga for an hour a day, six days a week. However, I absolutely recommend prioritizing your recovery post lifting, whether it’s stretching or foam rolling even for a few minutes. - Yoga also lends an opportunity to slow down and breathe. When we focus on deep breathing it engages our parasympathetic nervous system which will decrease symptoms of anxiety and relieve stress. - Try these yoga poses here. They’re intended to open up the hips.
