This weekend's task of #artteachersummer
is sorting reproductions! Integrating art history was something I was weak in last year, so these reproductions will help with art history games, discussions, and other learning activities that I'm researching this summer!
I have thousands of images in a variety of sizes/formats, so for the spring semester I sorted them into "genres" or "topics" that are loosely based on the big NOUN categories the kiddos have to learn: People (portraits/images of humans), Places (landscapes and architecture), Things (still life), Creatures (extension of things and my favorite if you've seen my own art recently), and Ideas (Abstract/NonObjective/Text/Numbers/anything that doesn't fit somewhere else). Now I'm working on sorting them by area of the world with 6 of the 7 continents that have art making people on them (my curriculum is around the world based). I have an ikea bag FULL and it's not even including posters I had to leave in my kiln closet for summer! Here's to diving in!! ;) #artteacherlife #dreamjob #arthistory #elementaryart #artteacherwin #summer2017 #swimminginart #onlyswimmingiamdoingthissummer #lol #arted #dreamgig
