Cherimoya - “deliciousness itself.”
Mark Twain called the cherimoya "the most delicious fruit known to men". The creamy texture of the flesh gives the fruit its secondary name, custard apple. To me Cherimoya taste like tutti frutti, meaning all the beautiful exotic fruits together, pineapple, banana & pear. It's so delicious that it climb up to my personal top10 fruit list. I did my research on this fruit, I found out that it has an antidepressant and anxiety-relieving and tranquilizing properties and it has been used in traditional Mexican medicine for centuries! So no wonder it makes me super happy. 🍍
Cherimoya fruits are sometimes heart-shaped, about the size of a large grapefruit, with creamy white, sweet and slightly tart flesh, green "dragon" skin, and an abundance of large, black seeds. Neither the skin nor the seeds, which are toxic when crushed, are edible. 🍍
With zero saturated fat, cherimoyas are cholesterol-free, high in fiber, iron, and niacin, and contain powerful cytotoxins that are said to combat cancer, malaria, and human parasites. They're high in vitamin C, a natural antioxidant that helps the body resist infection, as well as a good source of B vitamins, notably vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), which provides 20 percent of the daily recommended value. 🍍
I'm loving it. And Mark Twain was right -

🌟 It's London Fashion Week this week and everyone's chatting about the wacky outfits inspired by Killing Eve's character Villanelle and Sesame Street.
But amid the musings about what we'll be wearing this Summer, it's worth remembering cheap fast fashion's real and dangerous cost to people and planet.
If nothing changes the fashion industry will account for over 25% of the world's carbon budget by 2050.
That's why the fashion industry needs to take responsibility for their impact on our environment and people's human rights.
And government's need to legislate to create the standard that business should operate to.
I wrote a blog piece on how to shop sustainably last month - link is in my bio ☝🏻
But if you really want to make a difference, then in the words of Vivienne Westwood: 'Buy less, choose well, make it last'.

Good morning everyone 💚
Another day to change the world 😉☺️
I’ve been told a lot, ‘how can I make a difference, I’m just one person?’ And I think, well, that’s the attitude that means things don’t change .
One person times 1 billion can make a HUGE impact, and that’s not even all of us .
Yes, you might be called crazy. I was called crazy as an 8 year old for not eating meat. I was told I was crazy for buying second hand everything. I was told I was crazy for using up leftover foods... (that still happens 🙈) .
You might be crazy but you’re the one changing the world. Don’t stop. .
Every day you can make a small change to do something good, something better than normal, something that might not do anything overnight, but will nevertheless do something .
Maybe it’s switching to metal straws, choosing to stop using disposable cups, cutting down on your meat consumption twice a week.... .

O livro @plasticusmaritimus

~ 🌱 Whether we and our politicians know it or not, Nature is party to all our deals and decisions, and she has more votes, a longer memory, and a sterner sense of justice than we do. - Wendell Berry 🌱~ There’s been a lot in the media recently about youth protests for action against climate change and it’s inspired me so much to do a bit more activism, I’ve been to a few protests before but not the extinction rebellion ones yet. it’s so good to see young people taking action to change the world 🌎 💪🏻 if you have any tips or advice on activism hmu below ⤵️10 /10 catfish photo here cos whilst it is sunny in Briz today I am stuck in the library again 😂😂
Each year, some $30 billion worth of clothing leaves Bangladesh, bound for stores like H&M and Zara. In the aftermath of the #RanaPlaza
disaster, North American and European retailers faced unprecedented pressure from consumers and activists to address the often miserable conditions of the workers who make their clothes. More than 200 brands joined with trade unions to form two organisations that created legally-binding commitments to ensure worker safety.
But, this agreement to improve worker safety is in imminent danger of losing its footing in Bangladesh, with thousands of garment workers facing unemployment and legal action for protesting against low wages. “If the Accord is just thrown out from the country and this crackdown continues, I don’t think this will bring anything good for the industry,” says Kalpona Akter, founder and executive director of the Bangladesh Centre for Worker Solidarity, a labour rights organisation. “For a sustainable industry, this should not happen.” Read the full story on businessoffashion.com #3dknitting #fastfashion #sustainablefashion #sustainabledesign
DIY pencil skirt made by me.
Well I am no designer nor have I learnt tailoring through anyone. All I ve learnt is through observation and some effort and my friends Google/Pinterest and YouTube. This year, I have a resolved that I create more such outfits for myself and my dear ones. And to consciously quit buying the mass produced fashion clothes. Cos everytime you buy something from brands either it costs you a fortune or if it's on discount, every next person on the street is wearing it. I kindaa hate to wear something that every one has and also I can't spill my money just on buying something unique. So rather I thought I will make them myself. I am sure it is gonna be a slow process, but this also would help me accumulate less and be more creative.
Here is one of my first ever self designed and self tailored skirt, gorgeously flaunted by my friend @manasa_v_n
. Who has styled it with so much ease and grace.
Tell me if you have made any such small changes in your life that has helped you to accumulate less junk and more of things that really mean to you.

Bottling a little summer sunshine again, with the first of our homegrown tomatoes. We’re going to need to buy some in bulk to get us through the winter months, but these will get us started and taste a little sweeter because we grew them ourselves from seeds saved year after year. 🍅🌿
We talk about preparing for the winter months, and share our Super-Easy Rustic Bottled Tomatoes recipe in our book, ‘A Family Guide To Waste-Free Living’, which will hit bookshops next week!
