On Saturday, I had the distinct pleasure of sharing my story and teaching basic catwalk classes to a group of amazing young ladies. It brought back a lot of wonderful memories for me as this is what I did when I started volunteering almost 20 years ago! So I met these girls through Edel Horgan, who currently works and lives in Singapore, and she has been volunteering with a children's home and is very passionate about supporting and motivating these young women. .
When the residents of these homes turn 18, many of them are reintegrated with their families. But the girls who do not have that option must learn to fend for themselves. Edel is putting something together called The Butterfly Fashion Show and will be held at Facebook, Marina One on Dec 1st. .
The Butterfly Fashion Show Fundraising and Ticket Sales will provide funds to help the girls transition to the next stage of their lives. This will enable them to make informed choices about schooling, work and housing. .
