The first man I ever loved, really, was Superman. Okay, fine, he was the first fictional character I ever loved. When I was little, say eight/nine years old, we had no cable and there was only one TV set in our house. Now, we were only allowed to watch it to our heart's desire only on Saturday mornings after all the chores had been done. Our favorite TV station, my sisters and I, was Silverbird Television and they showed the three greatest shows of our time: Tom and Jerry Kids, Justice League and the KKB Show (only the 90's kids will remember 💚). My sisters adored Tom and Jerry but my favorite was Justice League and the character I was most fascinated by was the red-caped blue-tights wearing hero. Wonder Woman had my eye, too. So did the Green Lantern (On a side note, I'll say that I've never really liked Batman. He was always too grim when I was a kid and when I actually discovered that he had no superpowers, just money, it did not decrease the dislike, instead it did the opposite 😐)(In my defence, I had no idea his parents were dead and that was the reason he was the way he was) . . .
