You must know by now how much I love my girl @gojisuperdog.
She is my “first” child and I treat her like one.
Yesterday was so terribly hard for @jessechappus
and I. We decided after almost three years of deliberation to have Goji spayed.
This may seem like a no brainer to most pet owners, but not to us. Not when you have raised this holistic being with every natural method that you know. While trying to learn the biology of a dog and balancing what’s best for them. Spaying is not something we wanted to do before her first heat or even at all at.
We wanted her to develop naturally with all her hormones and making sure her growth plates are fused. We wanted her to fully develop.
Once we got past that and let her continue to mature we realized staying intact may not be best long term. There are many reasons why and I shared it all on @ultimatehealthpodcast
- so please if you have a pet go and read this post.
Today, the day after her surgery I am here to share that Goji is doing well and recovering amazingly. She is back to herself so much so that we have to slow her down so she can heal properly.
These little animals are magical, we can surely learn something from their no fuss no muss energy. No stories, no emotion just love- while we suffer lol!
I’m no human parent yet, but I’m a pet parent and I was up all night with my girl making sure she was happy and comfortable. She felt every inch of our love and there’s no doubt that her healing is progressing faster because of this 💜
Thank you to those that sent kind words yesterday. This was one of the hardest things I’ve had to go through 😉🙏🏼🐶💜
Love is love.
