I’m 21 in the the ↖️ left picture which was snapped right after I finished my first (and only) marathon. I trained for 4 months and happily checked that goal off my bucket list.⠀ ⠀ Everyone told me when I crossed the finish line I would have the bug and be so excited to do another one….um no. I crossed the finish line and promptly said, “I never want to do that again.”😂⠀ ⠀ I’m 35 in the ↗️ right picture and have been doing to heavy lifting (mainly powerlifting and now crossfit) for 3 years. My body shape is different, I feel stronger, and I absolutely have more confidence (which for sure comes with age, but also from knowing I can do hard things in the gym). ⠀ ⠀ For me, lifting weights is what I ❤️ doing. Double tap if you are with me! ⠀ I love picking up heavy things.⠀ ⠀ I love looking strong.⠀ ⠀ I love repping out pull-ups.⠀ ⠀ I love having muscle and an athletic shape to my body.⠀ ⠀ Weight lifting has done all that for me.⠀ ⠀ Well, weight lifting AND macro counting.⠀ ⠀ I’ve lifted weights in some fashion since I was 14 years old. This is my happy place. Yes I work here so I’m biased, but I effing love my job so it’s ok. I’ve had jobs that I hated, bosses who stressed me the fu*k out and positions that drained my energy to zero. I’ve done workouts that were ineffective, too taxing on my body & just not enjoyable. Then, I found this place. I have amazing bosses, an enjoyable and virtually stress free environment & an awesome team. I get to take challenging & effective classes daily (and do other workouts during my day, too!) that aren’t causing unnecessary stress or impact on my body. I’m feeling stronger, healthier and more energetic than I have in a long ass time. So yes this is my work, but it’s also my outlet and my happy place. I never realized how much work affected me, but considering work is where I spend the majority of my time (well, all of us - isn’t adulting fun?), it makes sense it would have a big effect one way or the other. I’m so thankful to get to spend time here. And if you’ve never tried Pilates - I HIGHLY recommend it!🖤🖤🖤
Recently I have just been finding myself with blinder up. I don’t really have a desire to be around friends, to ever leave my house, and if I have to explain to one more person why I can’t eat an apple I’ll probably lose my damn mind.🙃 I have found that the hardest thing on prep is dealing with people who just don’t get it and who make me question my own decisions.🧐 If I didn’t have a go fuck your self attitude to basically everyone I probably would give up, because this shit is more than physically hard it is mentally hard. 💩You need to be mentally tough like nails for this sport, and holly mother of balls I am learning along the way. There are so many victories present in this picture. . 1. Halfway through my yoga practice, my daughter got upset and needed a good snuggle. So I picked her up, kissed her face, and made her part of my pose until she was happy again. After that, she grabbed a book (propositional logic) and happily hung out with me while I finished. 💫 . 2. My flexibility. My mobility. At this point in my last pregnancy, the pain in my hip was so intense that I couldn’t do the simplest dance move. I stopped moving. I got scared to move. And I ended up in physical therapy just so I could walk from bed to couch. The fact that I’ve worked through the pain this time, strengthened my body for this second pregnancy, and I’m walking around pain free—it’s honestly enough to make me cry with happiness and relief. 💕 . I’m enjoying this pregnancy SO MUCH more than my first. And it’s all from a shift in mindset, and an understanding of what it really means to take care of your body. . No anxiety. No pain. Just love for my two girls—the one in my arms, and the one in my belly. And a love for myself, too. . Next fit club starts up April 1. QUALITY over QUANTITY or volume every time!!!! Hours of training is not needed to change your body! Actually it can have the opposite effect you are going for! . Stepping outside of my comfort zone with my workouts has been tough. It has made me really see my weaknesses, but I’ve also realized how strong I am. — It can be easy to just stay in our routine of doing what we enjoy. Most days I’m full boar 🐗 mode in the gym. Today I felt like taking it slower. 🐢 So I lowered my weight and really focused on my form and connecting mind to the muscles I was working. I tell you, it works. I’m shaking as I’m typing. Moved my headstands away from the wall and added some ab work. 👌🏻Taking my kids to get their pictures taken today. Pray that I can handle the stress. 😬
I worked out virtually with the girls @ 530am, got in an hour of work, chatted with another coach mama, listened to some PD —> now on to some coffee + breakfast ☕️🍳 . The house is quiet, the sun is shining & the birds are chirping 😍 So I’m gonna soak it all in before Bri gets up and OUR day gets started ☀️☀️☀️ . Feeling this accomplished {all before 8am} on a Friday, is incredible! #fridaymood . I haven’t always been a morning person & I struggle to get out of bed some days. Here’s a little late-night post for my late-night lift! I lightened up the weight and tried working on my form. My hips have always been pretty inflexible, so I wanna work on getting lowwww in my squats and really hitting that 🍑 - And a reminder: it’s not always going to be easy. Sometimes you’ll be tired, stressed out, busy, you name it - that is NOT an excuse. Get your workout in and fuel your body right as much as possible. What self limiting beliefs are holding you back? . There are many that held me back from the fitness world for years. One of those was the belief that if I lifted weights I would “bulk” up. I had in my mind that I had big legs and that weights would make them bigger. So why on earth would I lift weights? 🤔 . I think deep down I knew that wasn’t the case. But it was comfortable, so I went with it. It felt “easier” to stay the same even though I wasn’t happy, than to try something different that was unknown and uncomfortable. . Well guess what? 5 years into lifting weights consistently and my legs are not bulking up. Not even close. They are gaining muscle but by no means are they “bulky”. But you know what else? Even if they did start to bulk, I wouldn’t care because I have found joy in fitness and would take strong over skinny ANY day! . It’s time to stop your self limiting beliefs. It’s time to get uncomfortable now so that you can get comfortable in your own skin forever. . Believe change is possible. Believe in YOU!

Did a 4 round circuit training type thing. 5 total sets, alternating lower body/cardio/upper body/cardio/abs with no rest between moves, 30-60 second rest between round and 2 min rest between sets. Week 4 Day 3 of my 8 week program and your looking at my gym. Remember this: You do NOT need a fancy gym. You do NOT have to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on a gym membership.
