Challenge of the day: Having 3 slices of my dad’s homemade pizza! Guess what? I enjoyed it and, rarely, I had a great guilt-free time afterwards😊Im so busy with college stuff that it feels as if there’s really no space for my ED’s bullshit! Also, my therapy and psychiatry session last Friday went just fine! However...my doctor said that I STILL have to take my meds (ughh!) and that I’m still expected to go to therapy. Wow I have a BUNCH of goodies for ya in this post, folks 👊🏼 • These are some of my current favorite leg workouts that I am incorporating into my leg workouts every week. These workouts have left every muscle in my legs sore and I am so so so happy about it. Enjoy! • 1. Pulse lunges, front foot on plate. 2. Bench hip thrusts with one foot extended. Put pressure on grounded foot and push through heel, this engages your hamstrings even more because it focuses on one leg at a time. 3. Glute bench pulses 4. Kettlebell sumo squats 5. Curtsey lunges 6. Weighted jump squats 😅 7. Plate squats, typically I do these with a 25 lb plate but there were none to be found so I made it work. • Hope ya feel the burn 🌶

Chickpea lentil peanut butter cookies! 🤤🤤🤤 If you’re like me and are addicted to baked goods, healthifying them to the max can be a good way to continue enjoying them daily but also get some nutritional benefits. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 These are made of all whole ingredients, they’re nutritionally dense and delicious. Whilst not super sweet, they’re nice and doughey and the chocolate balances the flavours nicely! Each cookie is around 80cal and has 7g carbs, 3g fat and 4g protein 😍 🥜🥜🥜 The (rough) recipe: - 1x 400g can of chickpeas - 1/2 cup natural peanut butter - 1/2 cup maple syrup - 1 egg - 1/2 cup lentil flour - 1/2 tsp baking powder - 1/2 tsp baking soda - dash salt - 50g peanut butter chips - 1 choc button for each cookie (approx 50g total if you wish to use choc chips instead) Combine all ingredients except the chips in a food processor. Stir through peanut butter chips. Drop around 1 tbsp sized dollops of mixture onto a lined baking tray, then top each with a choc button. Bake for 12mins on 180 then let cool and enjoy! ❤️❤️❤️

Day 13 - Working out and training has kinda worn me out today, my legs muscles are on fire! It's a good sensation though, shows I've put effort in. I kept is slow on the work out today, used the resistance bands to strengthen my arms and shoulder muscles..gave the legs a rest! For breakfast I had some granola and natural yogurt and plenty of black coffee. Lunch, I had left over paprika chicken,some raw salad and pickled onions with a bit of mint yogurt. Dinner - beef mince with onions garlic and cumin, brown rice, butternut squash, peas ,sweet corn, kidney bean and olives. Again lots of water, and a few cups of tea today as I needed the energy! Gettin down with my home version of weighted windmills - 10L water container from ALDI forcing me to engage the core a little more. Working on shoulder stability and external obliques, though as you may notice the shoulder mobility is lacking a little. I love an upper body workout and am really trying to incorporate more exercises at home for those days I’m feeling too slack to get to the gym. (excuse the messy study 🙈)

You feel that surge of motivation and then feel frustrated and overwhelmed because there is so much info out there. It seems easier to just “swipe up” on the latest skinny tea post. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But girl, don’t do it 🛑 READ THIS FIRST 👇🏻 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ MY TOP 4 FAT LOSS TIPS FOR BEGINNERS. Keep reading! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ SET GOALS: create realistic goals to help you stay motivated. Try to focus on things like, go to the gym 3 days a week, eat more veggies with every meal, etc. Pick small goals and focus on those until they become a habit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ NUTRITION: to lose body fat you must be in a calorie deficit (meaning you are burning more calories than you are taking in). Figure out your total daily intake of calories is before you start by tracking EVERYTHING you eat for 1 one week. Be as accurate as possible. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Then subtract 200-300 calories from that and that will be your starting deficit. Aim for 3-5 balanced whole food meals/day made up of protein, healthy fats and CARBS (yes carbs are important and needed to fuel your lift 💪🏻). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ TRAINING: Resistance training 3-4 times a week is a great place to start. Or google it! You can find workouts for free! Don’t over complicate it, just get started! Focus more on training consistently to start making it a habit! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ WATER: We need water to help digestion and hydrate our muscles/organs. First day back in the gym...in 3 WEEKS😳 . . Little physique update. Still sitting at my lowest weight thanks to clean eating. I’ve been going stir crazy not being able to do legs or cardio and guilty when I did go to the gym to lift arms. Well I am getting my booty back in gear. Went and did bis and tris today as well as an ab circuit. MAN DID IT FEEL GOOD. . I’ve always had a love hate relationship with the gym that flourished with mostly hate. Now? I’m getting my CPT because my love for the gym is so insane. I eat clean, but still enjoy my favorite foods like pizza and ice cream as well as some drinks on ladies night or the weekends. It’s not all exercise that keeps you on track. It’s diet too! . . It’s never too late to start your fitness journey or get back on track. A walk/run challenge for 3 days for ladies of all fitness levels. All you need is a pair of shoes. — Fitness doesn’t have to be fancy. Just get your body moving. We are going to be training you to do just that. Whether you are currently training for a marathon, going on your first walk since having a baby, or looking for something active to do on your “rest” days — you can benefit from this! 👍🏼 — We will also be sharing some fall inspired recipes, healthified treats/desserts, and a guide to ordering a healthy Starbucks drink to survive this season without the guilt. ☕️ — ALSO!!!!! Swipe to see my Sunday glute focused workout and save for your next gym sesh 🔜🍑 - ⭐️ Warm up 5 min incline walk Foam roll, glute activation and dynamic stretches (10 mins) *Tip: I use to do static stretches before my workouts but now I do dynamic stretches and foam roll before weight training. Your muscles and joints go through a range of motion rather than static slow stretches that reduce your muscles ability to perform optimally during lifting. If you try this workout, focus on the eccentric movement. For example, with hip thrusts and squats, lower back down slowly and controlled so you get better mind to muscle connection. As you come back up, remember to squeeze your glutes to increase that muscle engagement. - ⭐️ Workout (All these clips are sped up) - ▪️ SM Hip thrusts 6-8x5: Focus on 3:1 TUT (3 seconds eccentric, 1 second concentric- coming back up) - ▪️ Sumo squats 10x4: I lowered the weight to work on my squat depth. Focused on taking my time on both eccentric and concentric phase. - ▪️ Good mornings 10x4: Keep back straight! - ▪️ Weighted step ups 12x4: Keep the weight at the ball of your foot to feel it more on the glutes. - ▪️ Walking lunges 10-12x3: Longer strides= more emphasis on ze butt. - ▪️ Cable pull throughs SS bodyweight banded single leg glute raises 15x3 - ⭐️ Finisher 10 mins incline walk / stepper - Hope these tips help as it's all well to follow a written plan, but if you're not using the right technique then you may not be getting the results you want! If you're struggling to push out the last few reps but still feel the right muscles contracting, then you know you're doing the right thing 🤗🏋🏻‍♀️
