Started the weekend with a fasted MAF run/walk. Goal was just to keep my heart at 145 bpm, and hit 90 minutes or 7 miles, whichever came first. Next weekend I'll do 120 minutes or 9 miles and keep building up. _________ Not a very scientific plan, but it'll help build my aerobic base in case I DO try the marathon in November, as I don't have the time or motivation to run 4/5 days a week for it. After a day of just dealing with so very much more than usual, the only thing I wanted to do is throw on my @cmsupplements hoodie and get the hell under the barbell. I walked into the Y at 8:35 pm, it closes at 9 pm. I had to do my first set of #squats from the bench position while someone finished up on the rack. I misloaded my first couple bench presses. I didn't take all my 90 sec breaks as I was on super crunch time. But guess what. I grew stronger all around today. Deload down to 255 to work on form and bar path. This is set 4 and it felt heavier than it should. Turns out I was drifting forward. I think i need to work on setting my hips back more. Focus for the remainder of August will be to build muscle. September starts a 12-week countdown until my next half marathon where my fitness regimen will shift to training runs and flexibility (bring on the yoga ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ). During this time I expect to lose muscle mass, hence the current โ€œbulkingโ€ . To think, just a few short years ago this sort of fitness planning was no where on my radar.
