The otherday I received a great question of how my mentality changed throughout my journey. I think it's pretty safe to say that for most people a fitness progress chart has it's up's and down's. Our starting points may be different. Our reasons/motivation may originate from a different spot. Our goals may be different, but if we choose to stop when things get tough (for anything in life) we sabotage our ability to reach, or surpass the goals we have set. One of the best things of Social Media is it allows us to connect with others, and be supportive to others in their journey. At the end of the day, most of us would rather build people up, than tear them down. What I gained mentally starts with a stronger will power, and understanding of health; but it doesn't stop there. I hope to continue to learn more as the opportunities arise. (Pay it forward)

Well I hit a new squat pr tonight but I wasn't sure it was to depth so I waited a couple minutes and did it again... and again. 205kg (450lbs) for 3 singles, very happy and exhausted.

Day 3 Transform 20 ~ 💪🏻 Stronger! ✅
I’m not dying today! I think yesterday’s workout was more brutal than today.. But it still put me in my place!!😂 I had to lower the step, my quads just didn’t want to work.. even had to do some moves off the step.. I felt way off balance today with the lunges.. but, we’re still new to the step, and I know it will come in time! I didn’t have to fight with myself to keep going! I was more excited to see what move was next! Hopefully I can squeeze in another workout later today! 🙌🏻 I really want to lift weights! Has anyone done either of the bonus weighted workouts yet? What did u think?! Have a great day y’all!

Run one of the week done! 🌚👟 It’s early days yet, but I’m really pleased with how consistently I’ve been getting out running since NYD... I think the 8 week break up until Christmas has given me an appreciation for doing what I can. Granted, I’m not in the full swing of marathon training yet, but going out hasn’t felt like a chore and I’m grateful to just be able to lace up and put one foot in front of the other. Even if I means a nearly 9:30pm start like last night! 🙈

Although, I have to say - pretty much everything about that run felt hard! Indigestion, stitch, hearing my heart pumping in my ears... it was a slog. Thankfully @ianrunsldn
was running ahead of me or I’d have slowed right down! 😩💥 But the hard runs are what make us better - whether it’s your body adapting to the challenge you placed on it, or your mental resilience knowing you can come out the other side. 💪🏼🙌🏼 It all helps make us stronger athletes so ride the lows along with the highs!
21HR long day, then almost 2hrs of training-getting it done. -Anyone can train when they feel good. The people that push and train hard when they are tired, hurt, sore, injured or sick—-those are the people that will thrive and prevail when it counts and it’s all on the line. Surviving with all the cards stacked against me, my life’s transformation.
That kid on the left had to overcome 3 lifetimes worth of pain and darkness to become the man on the right.
1️⃣ Growing up with an alcoholic and verbally abusive father.
2️⃣ My parents very, very nasty divorce at 14 (an age I needed them the most)
3️⃣ My house getting foreclosed on and getting kicked out.
4️⃣ Living on food stamps for 11 months.
5️⃣ Headed down the wrong path and almost giving up on my future.
The picture on the left is very important to me, it marks the start of me changing my life for the better, which all started with fitness. I took it about a month after I started weightlifting 7 years ago.👇
Everything I have in my life now is of my own effort and creation. I went from almost failing high school to now almost having a degree in finance from The Ohio State University. I went from being helpless to supporting myself 100%. I’ve achieved so much on my own out of pure motivation to better myself and not let the past define my future. It was 7 years ago I came up with the idea of getting Stronger Every Day.
I know I’m not the only one who’s been through some shit, but if I can overcome it than so can anyone else. There’s no excuse for giving up and giving in when times are hard and life sucks. You have the CHOICE to better yourself, you have to choice to get STRONGER EVERY DAY.
