Planning on eating a lotta tasty Easter eggs this weekend? 🐣 ⠀ ⠀ You might notice come Monday that your weight is up a bit as a result of this 🤷🏽‍♀️ But that’s okay... that’s what Easter is for right 🤣 Once you’re back into your normal eating habits, I promise this weight will drop again.⠀ ⠀ I want to use this post to highlight something that I think a lot of people do which ends up having a huge impact on the way the feel.⠀ ⠀ ❌ Focusing solely on scale weight ❌⠀ ⠀ You are worth SO much more than just a number on the scales. Seriously though, why let a number affect you so much? It’s a NUMBER. It doesn’t define you. ⠀ ⠀ By all means weigh yourself but please make sure you’re using other tracking methods alongside this to ensure you’re making progress in the right direction such as: tape measurements and progress pictures.⠀ ⠀ Honestly there will be times when you think you may not have made any progress because the number on the scales hasn’t moved, but your measurements have went down and you see a change in your progress pictures.⠀ ⠀ Why?⠀ ⠀ Because the scale only measures your weight, not your whole body composition. And your weight is affected DAILY by so many things including hormones, water intake, food. Your weight will naturally fluctuate all the time so focusing solely on that number on the scale is not the most effective way to track your progress.⠀ ⠀ ✅Take progress pictures every few weeks⠀ ✅Keep a note of up to date measurements ⠀ ⠀ Health is worth so much more than just a number on the scales. So keep your head up and stop letting that number get to you 💪🏼👌🏼⠀

Not that long ago I wasn't in the same place as I am now. I was so uncomfortable and upset with how I felt AND with how I looked. My attitude was miserable and nothing but negative. . This picture on the left -> I was stuck. I literally felt heavy {for years - inside & out} and I was always so down on myself about being so self conscious. I hated getting dressed every morning, I hated looking in the mirror and I really didn't enjoy being in pictures 😏 This picture on the right is today - this morning -> I'm mentally, emotionally and physically more stable. I now realize that spending time on ME - to feel good, to look better {which makes me feel comfortable}, to be happier {which benefits my family} - is 1000% worth it!!!! . . A lot of the time we forget about 'ME'! We are busy caring for our children, parents, family members, spouses, friends, animals, jobs., bills...... We let the time and the importance of what we really want {and need} slip away. But WE need to be here AND healthy for all of those things & people!! . . Today I'm thankful for CHANGE! I'm thankful for not being in that same spot. I'm thankful for the programs that made 'ME' possible - and it all enjoyable! I'm thankful for my life and everything in it! And I'm thankful that I'm strong enough to not let myself ever go back to that place where I once was..... 💖 Today, what are you thankful for? #timetosweat 💦💦

CLAMSHELLS 🍑 Foremost among the muscles worked by the clamshell is the gluteus medius. This is the abductor that forms the outside edge of your bum and side of your hip. The importance of your medial glutes can’t be overstated, with responsibilities that include hip stabilisation, balance, and power. Strong medial glutes protect your knees and lower back from unnecessary strain by taking on much of the workload involved in lower body movement. That includes any side-to-side action that you might take in an agility workout. Also targeted is the gluteus maximus, a prime mover in hip extension. • ✅Glute Activation When performing moves like a squat or deadlift in which one of the primary goals is to build glute strength, it’s important to first activate the muscles that will be doing the work. (If you perform a squat and all you feel are your quads burning, this message is for you.) Do a couple sets of clamshells prior to your squats or deadlifts in order to activate your glutes. This helps to ensure that they’re engaged and working as prime movers • ✅Hip Strengthening As a general exercise, the clamshell can help strengthen your medial glutes, bringing more power and stability to your hips. This can also translate to a decreased risk of injury throughout the entire lower body, greater stabilisation in agility workouts, and more strength and power in your squat.

I’m not sure if I’m overly weird or what 🤷🏼‍♀️ 😂 but I often catch myself smiling during my workouts 😁😂😂 I guess I enjoy the pain, the burn, the struggle, the challenge... that my trainer is kicking my ass!!!!! 🍑 Orrrrrr it’s the fact that I know I will feel so light, relaxed and strong when I’m done!!!!! 💪🏻. . I used to spend my days feeling weighed down. It’s hard to explain ... but heavy - inside and out. My chest was always tight, my head was always pounding and I was always exhausted. From doing nothing 😬. That’s the thing. When you use energy- you create energy! I didn’t realize that that was how it worked!!!! So when I starting moving - and eating healthier foods - I quickly began to feel a lot more energized and light too. More relaxed, more calm, less anxious.... like an elephant was lifted off my chest!! I workout for MANY different reasons - and this after feeling is definitely one of them!!!! 💦💪🏻💥. . Yes - I did get my ass kicked during this #cutfriday workout and yes it was hard!!! Yes I sweat and swore ... but I smiled too because it made me feel GOOD!!!!!!!! 🙌🏻. . We - together - are happy, healthy & strong! I've learned that it's most important to be healthy for my kids and to set the best example that I can FOR THEM! I want them to grow up knowing that body imagine means NOTHING but how you FEEL means EVERYTHING! And if they're in a tough spot, a difficult situation or going through something emotionally, mentally or physically - I want them to know that exercise, clean eating and personal development is often the BEST cure - that it’s life changing - and that it certainly helps to have the best support system too 💖
