Happy Time-Trippin Tuesday (Post 1/7)⏰
Today we trip back (seven times actually) to last week’s adventures and multiple runs. I’ve been majorly occupied lately with busy work days, projects at home, Valentine’s Day, running, spending quality time with my boyfriend and his family, and of course Presidents Day. I’ve even taken up multi-tasking eating breakfast while stretching before my morning runs (sorry for my janky-looking stairs pic).
For this half-marathon training block, I’ve been taking foam rolling, massages, and stretching more seriously. I’ll stretch and flex my legs under my desk at work; do quad stretches while waiting for the train; and calf stretches on escalators. It’s crazy how much sitting I do on a daily basis! If running breaks down muscles, then heals while sitting, then imagine how messed up muscles could get for sitting for hours on end! “Get up and stretch!” Is what I tell myself every hour. I like the feeling of being flexible, it’s like freedom; and I read you hydrate your body by moving. It enables nutrient-rich blood and plasma to reach your joints and other parts, while staying in one position too long cuts off flow. So if you see me taking walks around town or the office, it’s because I’m (or my joints) are thirsty lol! 😅💧 .
