It's normally rest day today, but my parents kindly took Jake for the day so I used the time to do Friday's full body plus 3 rounds of a upper body routine for #shouldercapsaturday . Loved the EMOM (Every minute On Minute) format.... kind of like doing HIIT but only dying & gasping for air for half the time 😆. ⠀ Also catching up with some of the days I missed for #PrepWithProps : ⠀ ⠀🔹️ Day 15 - #Crane with wheel ⠀ . 🔹️ Day 14 - #MiddleSplit at the wall ⠀🔹️ Day 13 - #BowPose with wheel ⠀🔹️ Day 12 - #ToeTaps on a block . ⠀🔹️ Day 11 - #PistolSquat on a block ⠀ I was stuffed by the end of this and called it a day. Baby girl was due for a feed anyway. Had a slow start to the week but am glad to have caught up with everything & finished up strong. Already looking forward to next week's workouts. Second Push day of the week and finished the session with some low weight over head press to failure. Working on my bench to be able to comfortably manage 5x5 at 100kg...today 5x3 was all I could do 😩 Hit a Pb of 110kg earlier in the week for a single so will hopefully be able to get a double at least in a few weeks by using the method above.

Yesterday saw Orkney Amateur Weight Lifting Club's very first, and by popular demand our second, club training sessions, with over 20 athletes coming along to give Weightlifting a go. We are absolutely delighted at how things went, a brilliant atmosphere was observed in both sessions; with lifters working hard, helping each other, and enjoying themselves. We have decided to host our initial club sessions as a 6 week block. This will allow lifters enough time to become familiar with the main lifts with supervision of a coach in a team setting. Classes will be run on Saturdays at 11:30-12:30 (if there is enough interest we will host more). We are still finalising details with regards to price and will be releasing them early next week.
