I love programming the sled for my clients at the end of their “workout” for conditioning or within as part of their strength work. Here I’m using it for my own “workout” when I’m short on time. I set timer for 20mins, focused on diaphragmatic breathing/nasal breathing and did as many laps as I could until I couldn’t control my breath anymore. I rested as needed and then repeated until the time was up. Add in an @original_strength
reset like cross crawls, marching, bird dogs/speed skaters or crawling and you are 👍🏻in 20mins or less.

Tell me again why a woman who lifts isn't attractive? It is disgusting and upsetting that women feel they can't pursue lifting. How can you deny a woman the pursuit of being independent and strong? Improving one's character and health through fitness shouldn't be denied to anyone. There's a lot more to bodybuilding and strength training than lifting a dumbbell above your head and looking in the mirror glistening in baby oil. There's a lot of that too but honestly it helps create discipline, confidence and independence. I haven't even mentioned the health benefits associated with a dedicated exercise regime. This belief that a woman should be criticised for wanting that independence, wanting to be strong and sculpt their body with a muscular aesthetic needs to be done away with. You're either insecure or close minded if you're someone who criticises this. We've all got our preferences but if it's healthy and its empowering, don't discourage it. Those who say lifting makes a women manly clearly need to take a better look at those in this post. You can still deadlift 100KG/220lbs and be feminine, you can still have tree trunks and be feminine. Many thanks to @pbandjess__

Going Through It Or Growing Through It? Sometimes we act like we are the first to experience the problems we face. Like no one in history has gone through the struggles we’re now encountering. And seldom we ponder what the solution to our troubles can be, becoming trapped in the delusion that somehow things will change on their own. That’s passive living and just getting by a mere existence. The mentally strong always ask themselves what is this situation telling me? How is this experience guiding me towards my higher self? What is the lesson in it all? It’s the “hanging in there” attitude that needs to change. If you’re seeking to overcome a difficult circumstance I challenge you to shift from a “I’m going through this” mentality to a “I’m growing through this” mindset. Although my profile is currently under construction 🚧, I wanted to share a thought/ experience from when I first began my yoga journey. -
💫 Uttanasana (Standing Forward Fold) was the first position I learned, and during this process, I used this pose to measure and determine my progress aka “how good I was getting”. If I could wrap my arms around my calves, that meant I was getting somewhere in my practice. 🤦🏽♀️
With this mind set, I experienced tons of frustration and conflict within myself which distracted me from the progress I truly was making.. and ultimately the whole point of yoga. Yoga is NOT a competitive sport. It is not a practice to be compared amongst others. It is for YOU, and you only. Being present, allowing and accepting of your practice today, is truly all that matters. Just a sweet reminder to all yogis, of all experience levels 💕💫
