Happy 20th to my most favorite Eminem album, #theslimshadylp
I just feel like this album was the start of it all for Eminem himself, this turned him from an underground nobody to a household name that we know now. Most of the content on this album is a written under Eminem's alter ego Slim Shady, so many classics on one album it's hard to choose which one I like the most so I would have to say all of them are great. This marked the beginning of a legend, when nobody knew who he was. And Dr. Dre, making the smartest move in his career. Taking Slim under his wing. And the rest is history, he talks about this in his songs consistently about how Dre saved his life and he turned him from a nobody into somebody, when he was just about to quit and give up. Everybody doubted him and didn't believe that he was going to make it, but he proved the people who criticized him wrong. The reason why I like the Slim Shady character so much it's because of his raw, unfiltered lyrics and he wasn't afraid to speak his mind or tell anybody how he felt. And some of the topics that he raps about, he just take things that are wrong with the world and pokes fun at it. He didn't care that people hated him, or parents that didn't want their children listening to his music, he just did what floats in his boat and then didn't really care about what people thought of him. Imo, there are some tracks that should have made the final cut to the album. Like Murder, Murder, Take The World With Me, Bad Influence and Hell Freezes Over. He could save those songs for The Slim Shady LP 2 if he wants to, a mixture of new and old songs. The Slim Shady LP will always remain one of my top favorites for life. It was the album that made Shady who he is today.
