✨SUNDAY SQUATS✨ So, dis me squatting 105kgs x 4 at my max weight ever. Im super low on carbs at the moment so this was a shock and 100kgs has never felt easier. That extra 5kgs stumped me —————————— Is my ass hitting the grass? No. Do I ever lift this heavy on my own? No. Does my back feel stable? Mostly. Do I need to use a belt? Maybe. Am I too scared to go all the way down? Hell yeah. Am I still learning? You bet your sweet ass I am. —————————- Not here to brag or show off. So another post regarding my main man, #BIG @henry.taylor. Henry started working with me the start of July, he #squatted 160kg/352lbsx5 then. He has just got 180kg/396lbsx5. Thats a 20kg increase in 2 MONTHS. And I have to add, Henry is 20 and #natural and still had more #reps in him. He doesnt know his own #strength yet! Dont get me wrong the reps arnt #perfect . They're a couple of inches above parallel and his stance and external hip rotation could have been better but that just glorifies the fact even more that he is an absolute #powerhouse and is going to go places. Well done Henry you #tank . Today was squat day. This is the final set of 3x2 at 255. I normally have three days between deadlifting and squatting, only two this time. Had trouble with getting wide under the bar and walkouts on a few sets. All in all I'm glad I get my reps in, found some new stuff to work on for that sticky point, and that @aminomassive didn't need to assist this last set. #squat #squatday
Leg day. Low weight, lots of reps...my form is definitely improving, to my fairly untrained eye at least. But after more than 75 low and high bar reps, I actually enjoyed squats for the first time ever. Happiness is discovering that you don't completely suck at something lol. For example, let's say you work up to a set of 225lbs in the bent over row and you manage to get 7 reps. Then, take off 10% and do a 2nd set of 7 reps with that weight (for example, 205lbs x 7 reps). - Next week, when you hit the bent over row again, work up to a heavy set of 225lbs, but this time, aim to do 1 more rep (8 reps this week instead of 7 reps last week). When you hit 8 reps, add 5lbs, and start back at 6 reps. - For the 2nd day of the week, you can do another rowing variation but hit it up for 3-4 sets of 8-12 reps, simultaneously building strength and size throughout the week. - Remember, be consistent and never give up. Even the bad squat days feel like good squat days 🏋🏽‍♀️ ▫️ Not the best squat day in the world, but that’s okay 👌🏽 Tried doing 195 5x5 and struggled to get as low as I would’ve liked to for each rep. Today was just hard and they just kept getting higher. I need to learn to be okay with not feeling the same strength EVERY day.
