UPDATE: Cowboys veteran LB Sean Lee says he’s “leaning toward” playing in 2019, but needs to assess his physical shape before making a final decision.
A couple of days after telling reporters that he was considering retirement, Lee joined KTCK “The Ticket” in Dallas and said he is likely to play next season. “I want to continue to play the game, but I have to evaluate physically where I’m at. I definitely have some decisions to make,” Lee said. “I’m leaning toward playing for sure.” “I’m going to take a month, travel a little bit with the wife, see how I feel,” Lee added. “A month or two down the line I’ll figure out where I’m at.” Lee, 32, appeared in seven games this season (5 starts) due to lingering hamstring injuries. He finished with 30 total tackles, 0.5 sack, one pass defense, and a fumble recovery.
Lee is set to enter the final year of his 6-year/$42M contract and stands to make a base salary of $7M in 2019.
