Well I stole this photo from someone else's post as I did not race with a camera. This gives you an idea of how steep the ascent was. I am grateful they had ropes for us. Anyways at the end I finished 43 miles and 150 obstacles. I have never finished a race where my upper body was as sore as my lower body. The carries where crazy and the course was definately designed to make the 100 mile mark impossible so they wouldn't have to pay out the million or 100000. Ryan did put the fear into them for awhile and it was an honor to be on the same course as the top guys in the world.
@davidgoggins taught me that motivation is wanting to do something (and guess what, it goes away), but drive is doing it even when you don't want to, even when it will hurt, even when it will be hard. Seeing so many friends and role models make amazing life achievements this past weekend as elite racers, or in the soul crushing conditions at Iceland @spartan has given me more than motivation. Its given me the drive to give everything I've got for my 2019 goals. Eyes on the prize 💪
