WEEK 3 PHOTOS: 3 weeks in and going strong! Haven't missed a single workout yet, have successfully done a couple of fast, and have already cut down some of my body fat! Here's some stats from when I measured before starting (Nov 3) and now. Beginning weight was 184, current is177. Per my smart body scale my body fat has gone down from 21.4% to 20.4%. Body measurements haven't changed much, but I lost 1/4 inch off my arms (which are feeling a bit more toned) and an inch off my belly. Waist and thighs haven't changed, but I'm not surprised by that. Workouts continue to go strong with weight getting added each time and no sets or reps missed so far. This coming week will be a bit of a challenge as I am going out of town for 5 days and am not sure if I'll have access to any sort of a gym for probably three of those days. Are you the girl who is heading to the gym with the sole purpose of burning calories, thinking that running on the treadmill is going to help you build muscle, get lean and build curves? I promise you it won't happen! Simply because these machines spit out an inaccurate calorie burn number doesn't mean it's helpful in tracking your progress. Sorry, barbells and dumbbells don't spit out calorie burn numbers even though lifting can produce the most significant changes in your body. Even if you're trying to gain weight or lose weight lifting should be 75% of your workout. Start with your largest muscle groups first! Legs! Glutes, quads, hammies! Then move on to upper body if that's in your workout schedule for that day. They're are other much more effective ways to do cardio than treadmills and ellipticals and such. Found a pic of the first time i ever stepped in a gym (first pic in the collage, November 2015) and man does it take me back. 😂 I was surprised when I walked in to find that most people were wearing sweats and oversized T-shirt’s bahaha I had just assumed everyone wore tiny outfits. Back then I can’t tell you which was smaller, my butt or my self confidence🤷🏻‍♀️. That day I decided to tag along with my friend to the gym because i was tired of being “skinny fat” and just generally unhealthy. I’m ridiculously grateful that I did.❤️ . . La motivation et la discipline : souvent les gens se plaignent de ne pas être motivés pour aller s'entraîner, quelque soit le domaine, et quelque soit leurs objectifs. Et malheureusement la motivation vous allez la perdre, un jour ou l'autre. Que ce soit au bout d'un jour, d'un mois, ou de plusieurs années. N'espérez pas que vous serez toujours motivés pour faire les choses, surtout pour les choses comme changer de physique qui prennent des années (si bien sûr on exclut la prise de dopants grâce auxquels vous allez pouvoir court circuiter la nature et votre génétique et aller bien plus vite au prix souvent d'effets secondaires demandant des traitements à vie voire pire). La motivation c'est bien sur le court voire très court terme, mais une fois que vous l'aurez perdue, c'est la discipline qui devra la remplacer... Et c'est là que beaucoup abandonnent, que beaucoup font les choses seulement quand ils sont motivés, pour se plaindre après de ne pas avoir de résultats alors qu'ils enchaînent les aliments ultra caloriques bourrés de sucres et vont à la salle une fois par mois voire moins... Faire les choses parce qu'elles doivent être faites, que personne ne les fera à votre place, et pas parce que vous en avez envie. Alors oui vous serez sûrement à nouveau motivé un jour ou l'autre, mais cette motivation disparaîtra à nouveau, puis reviendra, ou pas, alors que la discipline elle devra être là tout le temps. Alors bien sûr tout le monde craque un jour, personne n'est infaillible, c'est souvent bien plus attirant de passer un dimanche sous la couette que d'aller s'entraîner ou autre, le tout étant de faire en sorte que ça n'arrive pas trop souvent... #motivation #french #beard #fitness #anxiety #anxiété #boy #skinnyfattofit

#throwbackthursday to April 2017 (left) to recent. 🍗LEG GAINS🍗 or..... just the formation of a leg in general 🤷‍♀️😂😂 I used to hate leg day... avoided lunges (they were too hard😭🙄🤦‍♀️) and didn’t exactly have proper form. My diet wasn’t the best either. Beer didn’t form my buttcheeks. 😂😂 my lower half is where I hold the most fat, so I’m fighting genetics one squat at a time. 🍑💥🥊. . . . . I don’t squat the heaviest, but Ive done a lot. 😅☠️🔥 Also studying the muscles in college helped everything just click for me. My @rocksolidnutrition High Metabolism helped me shred stubborn hip fat I always held onto, along with starting to do a lot of band work (thanks @mirandageist.fitness for your awesome band! ) and I try targeting the Gluteus Medius to help “round out” the shape. If frontward lunges are hard, try doing reverse lunges first. If a lift or move is hard, don’t avoid it!! I actually had a very weak back and was in a lot of pain most of the time when I was younger. I had a bad accident on my horse back in the day, which could have left me paralyzed. #transformationtuesday post. To be honest one of my bigger regrets is that I don’t have any pictures of me when I was in my worst shape! I hated any photos of me topless or showing my moobs, love handles or chubby stomach. The picture on the left shows me aged 20 in very average shape dieting stupidly and allowing zero flexibility in my diet or life. On the right aged 22 I was allowing a bit more flexibility and am in pretty good shape. When was I happier? Now! I’m happier now because I’m more relaxed and less body obsessed. I train for a purpose and eat for a purpose whilst trying to stay in decent shape. I’m not as lean as on the right or as ‘skinny fat’ as on the left but I’m bigger, stronger and enjoy my life much more! Moral of the story?
