Do you take as much care with yourself as you do with your things? Bags and shoes come and go but skin’s with you forever. Make it your best accessory.
Don’t read today’s Instagram story if you see this - I’m confusing the hell out of you! 🤭
But yes, this is true. Be careful who you take advice from. Just because it’s “natural” doesn’t mean there’s science based evidence to show that it’s good for you, your skin or health.
I’m taking this education journey to advise my patients to the best of my ability (and not survive off Google’s advice).
- Guess what, #poisonivy
is a PLANT (does not come more natural than that) but it causes one of the most common allergic reactions upon contact with skin. Lead is a naturally occurring metal that is harmful to human health🤷🏾♀️ People have to understand, many things in nature are natural & organic and yet bad for our health. Many natural chemicals can be harmful, especially if misused while many synthetic chemicals not found in nature are life-saving drugs.
Buying organic produce may be great for your groceries but same does not always apply in skincare & vice-versa. There is an extensive amount of effort that goes into producing safe and effective products.
One of them is ensuring your #Skincare
product does not become a petri-dish for bacteria while sitting on your beauty counter. If not careful with #diy
skincare & some organic/natural skincare products, you risk exposing your self to infections & serious allergic reactions.
Perspective is needed when it comes to making the right decision for you.

First disclaimer: I received this product complimentary from @influenster
- now let’s get into the meat and potatoes of it. I have never had an @olehenriksen
product do me dirty- EVER. I am a huge fan of everything I’ve ever tried from his line. His AHA’s/BHA’s, his masks, cleansers, toners, moisturizers, Vitamin C’s- anything I’ve used has never irritated my skin. This however, this one got me real upset. I posted a few days ago that I had a really bad allergic reaction and chemical burn from a new product I had tried. My skin is still in recovery from it. Y’all it hurts, it’s red, it’s burning. It’s not a good thing lol. I had been using this for about 3 days prior to my burn, and honestly I loved it. It has a cute ass lavender color, it smells like an orangesicle, and it left a gorgeous sheen on my skin. But it did appear more like a cosmetic item than skincare. It masks your skin in highlight. Literally if you took 2 drops of the cover fx illuminators and put it on your face it mimics that effect. That kind of concerned me but I was mostly thinking it looked “cute” lmao I was W R O N G. A few days into using it I tried the indie lee brightening cleanser. Initially after putting it on I felt my skin sting a bit it was uncomfortable so I washed it off immediately and it left a film like texture on my skin. The next day I woke up and my skin was on fire. I was COVERED in tiny bumps, my skin was itching, burning and it hurt to the touch. (The last photo is the day after, I sharpened it slightly so you can see the texture properly- it barely does it justice) instantly I thought it was the indie lee cleanser. Which looking back on I know it contributed to it bc of the burning but I believe this Ole serum was the main cause. I started to do some research and read some reviews and some people were saying the same or a similar reaction happened to them. It sucks because this product is so cute and it seems so innovative- I want to ❤️ it and roll around in. But no, instead I look like a tomato woman and I am heart broken. I might revisit this one day but right now it’s a big no no. It makes me sad to even review it bc I love Ole, but honesty is the best policy.
Does anyone remember @vintnersdaughter
? I completely forgot about them until I stumbled onto this photo I took last year. Two things I learned from that picture: 🌞 No need to splurge on “luxury” skincare products.
🌞 Support US economy by buying skincare products locally.
So I've been feeling under the weather these past few days. Went to see the doctor yesterday and got early diagnostic that I might need to do lab test the day after tomorrow to check whether I got typhoid fever or not. But that doesn't stop me from doing my skincare routine of course! Ha! Beauty requires sacrifice they said 😆
I've been using this Trove app to track my skin progress for the last couple of months. This app will analyse your skin condition using their algorithm and gives you report along with scores based on certain indicators of your skin. All you need is just to take a selfie with the app and it'll do the rest. It's very fun to use. You can also record the skincare products that you use daily so you know which products deliver the best result for your skin.
My regime last night was to deal with hormonal acne that suddenly popped up and my tired skin due to lack of sleep the other day. I first cleansed and toned my skin using the flowery powery stuff (Calendula from Neogen and Damask Rose from Mamonde). I usually double cleanse using Purito pH cleanser before using toner, but I was just too tired so I skipped it this time. After that I went onto my all time favorite serums from Iunik (Tea Tree for the night and Propolis in the morning after), and then I put some The Ordinary Azelaic Acid as spot treatment before I ended it with Iunik Centella Gel Cream to soothe and calm down the skin. Though the score only improved a tiny bit, at least I look a year younger. Hahah. It works quite swell considering I didn't double cleanse, so I rate this routine 8/10 for making my skin looks healthier.

Dewy Face Morning Glow SPF35 PA++ - Still not sure what this is and how to use it lol... it’s most similar to a glowy makeup base I guess. The finish looks super beautiful (it makes this watery glow which is currently trending in Korea) but the consistency is super viscous and it’s kinda difficult to spread on the face, so I don’t know yet if I love it or not...
Vitamin 75 Maximizing Cream - a lightweight gel-like moisturizer with good hydrating properies. Contains sea buckthorn water and vitamin E and can enhance the effects of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) serums.
Derma Formula Skin Barrier Cream Ceramide - a very good moisturizer for dry skin. Thicker consistency which is nourishing and soothing but still well absorbing.
Return 2 Blessing Visual Balm SPF36 PA++ - A tinted moisturizer, very much like a BB cream, but super lightweight. It makes a beautiful natural no makeup look. Coverage is light and it tones up a bit (it looks way darker in the jar than when actually applied on the skin).
No-Sebum Moisture Powder - a very affordable loose powder I use to fix my makeup. Doesn’t make me look too matte or cakey and it’s small enough to carry it around in my makeup pouch.
Skin Smoothing Glowrizer - this is just a travel size I got as a gift and I haven’t even tried it yet, because it looks too pretty to open it! 😍
Happy Hump Day Loves!! ❤️
What are some of your favorite products to get that perfect dewy glow? ✨
is out with their newest launch – “Smart Drawings” that makes everyday makeup super easy! They are all in brush form and you just have the squeeze the color out and “draw” it on your face – it’s super fun!! These are so multi-purpose and blends in with the skin extremely well. Has anyone tried brush pens like this? These are the colors I received & using everyday:
• Color corrector in Apricot Peach – this works the best for dark circles but I’ve also been using it kind of as a concealer to hide my blemishes
• Color corrector in Vanilla Green – the one I need the most in my life to neutralize any red tones and redness around my nose.
• Strobing in Peach Light – A liquid peachy highlighter. This is the first time I’m using a liquid highlighter like this and my god, I love how it blends in!
• Blusher in Peach Coral – Think this may be my new favorite blusher. Still undecided whether I like this or the cloud paints more, but right now, love them equally. I was impressed by how subtle yet beautiful this color was on my skin!

Hello my Insta Family! Hope you all are having a great week. It's been a long time since I posted my #skincareroutine
so here's my simple yet very effective #pmroutine
✨ Banila Co Clean it Zero Cleansing Balm - I like this iconic cleansing balm as it works amazingly well to thoroughly remove makeup without stripping skin's natural moisture but the only issue I have with this cleanser is that I am not loving the scent.
✨ QV Face Gentle Foaming Cleanser* - I really like this product for my second cleanse with a cleansing brush as it offers a thorough cleanse without drying or stripping my skin. It leaves skin clean, smooth & refreshed.
✨Manicare Facial Cleansing Brush* - I love how gentle this cleansing brush feels on my skin yet effectively exfoliates the dead skin cells. This manual brush might not look like much but the soft bristles are absolutely brilliant at gently cleansing & exfoliating the skin.
✨ The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23%+HA Spheres 2% - I've just recently started using this by mixing it with the Vitamin E moisturiser and just with 3 applications I have noticed significant results, can surely vouch for it. Review coming shortly.
✨ Swisse Vitamin E Facial Moisturiser^ - This natural gentle moisturiser is enriched with natural Vitamin E, Organic Macadamia Oil & Olive Squalane to protect and nourish the skin, Plantolin to calm redness & irritation and Chamomile & Oat extracts to soothe the skin. The essential fatty acids & Vitamin E in this moisturiser assists with skin barrier protection and feels nourishing when applied. This moisturiser is ideal for anyone as it's not only hydrating but feels very light on the skin and gets easily absorbed to protect & lock in the moisture.
✨ Kmart Paw Paw Ointment Avocado - Though this is an ointment it works really well as a lip balm. It's formulated with Vitamin E, Jojoba seed oil, Papaya extract & Shea butter and smells very yummy. Since it has a balmy texture I like to apply this in my night routine and next morning my lips look perfectly moisturised & nourished. *detail review up on my blog (link in the bio!)

There’s a true love story behind the very famous #Meishoku #Bigansui
The story dates back to 1885 when Mr.Masajiro Momotani, an aspiring young pharmacist, inherited his family’s struggling medicine business during an economy down turn
Days were hard and Kou, Mr. Momotani’s wife suffered from severe acnes. With the determination to revive the business, Mr.Momotani left home and travelled miles to Tokyo in search for new western formulations to cure disease. 🏃🏻♂️
For the love of his wife, Mr.Momotani created the Bigansui with the use of Salicylic Acid and western formula to cure acnes. After years being away from home, Mr.Momotani finally reunited with his wife. After using Bigansui, Kou’s skin instantly improved and started to glow. 👩🏻
Her beautiful glow made notice to everyone in the village and everyone wanted a bottle of it. It’s fame spread across the entire country and soon it reached the ear of the royal family, which led it to become the representative of medicine manufacturers in Japan. For the full story in manga, check out our stories. .
Over 130 years since its launch, the Bigansui formula remains unchanged! There’s a reason Bigansui stood the test of time - it does magic to acnes and pores. Swipe right to see Bigansui at its first release in 1885.

Tried one of the Dr. Morita masks last night! I picked the Platinum Colloid & Black Pearl Extraction Moisturizing & Whitening Black Facial Mask - whew! That’s a really long name! 😅 Basically, this is a preventive aging treatment mask.⠀
• Mask Features •⠀
This hydrating mask contains Platinum Colloid’s antioxidant to prevent skin from premature aging. It also has Black Pearl Extract to detoxify, promote skin renewal, and enhance skin elasticity. While Tranexamic Acid whitens the skin.⠀
• My Experience •⠀
~ Although the eye holes were a bit narrow for me, the overall fit was really great! The mask sat nicely and snugly on my face.⠀
~ Material was soft and thin. It came with a backing to help with face application. The backing was drenched in essence which I rubbed on my arms, legs, and feet.⠀
~ Oh gosh, I can’t remember the scent. But definitely nothing strong otherwise I would remember! 😅⠀
~ Wore the mask for 15 minutes, as recommended. Skin was visibly brighter and plump. No sticky feeling afterwards!⠀
~ Mask was still very drenched so I rubbed it all over my body.⠀
~ I used the remaining essence in the packet for a DIY mask which I offered to my husband (more of forced it upon him 😄). The essence left wasn’t enough to completely drench the compressed mask so I had to add a good amount of Hada Labo toner. I think thin cotton pads would be better though. We’ll try that next time.⠀
• Overall •⠀
I really liked the mask. At first I was worried that the essence would be too thick (which I’ve noticed is common in anti-aging masks I’ve tried before) and sticky but the texture was just right - not too thick nor too watery. The mask was just juicy which I found really pleasant. Brightening and hydrating effects were great! I used my skin analyzer and score went up from 44% (pre-sheet mask but applied toner, essence and serum) to 56% with moisture and softness levels maxed out and oil level down by one notch. MAJOR YAY! Will definitely use this mask again in the future!
