It was the wedding day at last! Ribbons strung around the rails of the stairs, strings of fairy lights let down from the rooftop to hang down over the house walls outside - ready to be lit up at nightfall! It was finally the big day for our beautiful bride to walk down the aisle.
The whole day was calm and smooth while the real rush came in only at sundown. The Bride will, of course, be the first to start dressing but also end up the last to finish.
And FINALLY, she was ready, wearing a gorgeous white wedding gown with so much detail everywhere, I couldn't possibly explain all of it. The theme was green teal for outfits and dark coral pink for decor! So all the men wore tuxes and green teal neckties while the ladies found something green teal to add to their different outfits. Then there’s us bridesmaids in all the matching glory of flowing gowns - our sleeves and bodice in white connected by a belt of beads at the waistline to a flowing full-length green teal skirt made of valentine.
We reach our destination- the wedding hall. Honestly speaking, the whole wedding for me was smiling at people I had no clue who the hell they were, then watching the little ceremony happen and then the FOOOOODDD and then, sigh, the PICTURES -for the album. That never-ending long line of family members waiting to get their picture taken with the bride and groom - it's crazy, no joke
Well, that's my side of the story while others, especially the couple, would have their own story to tell.
But this is my story so moving on. We all come back home for the post-wedding party. The one where we have loads of sweets served to eat. Oh! But not before we snow spray the couple and then annoy the hell out of them and so on - we have our own list of things. However, this time they had the so-called welcoming ceremony at the wedding hall AFTER most of us left. But that didn't stop us from doing it again at home, so yes, we did.
AND THEN I have NO IDEA what happened. That's as far as my memory goes. I probably dropped dead in my room upstairs. While everyone else, I'm guessing, did the whole good old times reminiscing thing. So yup, great wedding! Next up: Waleema on the 20th.
