The shadows of our past... I'm having a bit of a hard time dealing with them at the moment. Everything we experience leaves traces, especially the bad experiences. I need to remind myself not to be dragged down and be upset because it's not fair. Even when I was just a little kid, fairness was a very important concept for me. I would admit to my parents when I did something wrong so nobody else would be punished for my mistakes. Though I was a sweet little kid, so that didn't happen often ;) Well, until I was like 11. But that's another story, haha. My point is, it's easy to be mad at the world because things don't seem fair, but we should keep in mind that we're responsible for our actions. Women are often complaining that men are such a**holes, and I must say my ex boyfriends until recently haven't treated me well either. But I let them. Nobody forces you to stay with someone who doesn't appreciate you. And while those people have to be responsible for their actions, you have to be responsible for yours. Basically, I'm just reminding myself (and you precious humans!) here to not blame someone else for our situation. Learn from your mistakes, don't repeat them and come out of it stronger and smarter. There's always something good to be made of any situation, you're learning and growing. Keep going!
Oh, about this picture: It was taken during my two-week trip to Morocco last month, in the Sahara Desert. If you'd like to have a look at my photo diary of stunning Morocco, just check the link in my bio or blog story highlights.
