One of my favorite things to do as a kid was to sit on the other side of the door and listen as my mom cut wrapping paper and taped gift boxes together.
She would open the door just enough to slide the presents out as she finished them and my sister and I would light up with excitement!
I secretly wish I worked at Macy’s in the gift wrapping department this time of year but since I don’t, I did what my mom always did...
I went into my room, closed the door and told Pais I was wrapping gifts, but she was a little more ornery than I remember being...
“Mooom, I want a hug!”
“Mommy, I’m not peeking” (as her little hands crept under the door)
I went out to set the presents under the tree and she looked at me, grabbed my face and said “Mommy, I saw a little bit of Peppa Piggyyyy!”
She knows one of her Christmas gifts and I now know I was way too naïve to think that she didn’t have the smarts to peek under my door.
I do zero cardio or ab workouts, not saying it’s wrong to do but there’s alternatives. Instead of running for an hour to burn 300-500 calories, why not just eat less or choose lower glycemic options? At the end of the day it’s about being in a caloric deficit.
For abs, it’s a matter of body-fat, the less you have- the more visible they will be. Incorporating some ab exercises is ok, just doesn’t need to be over done.
