The last night of our hike around the Hardangerjokull glacier ended up here. We could see the town of Fossli down in the valley only when the fog lifted but it didn’t do that too often which was a good thing. I don’t think any of us wanted to be reminded of the reality we were about to return to the next day. Instead, we picked berries, drank tea and ate all the last snacks that remained (I made vanilla pudding!), reflecting on the hike whilst the fog swirled and the cottongrass danced in the breeze. Once everyone had gone to bed, I decided to enjoy the view a bit longer, so I went for walk until it got too dark to enjoy the view. One thing I won’t miss from this hike is having to sneak back into my tent and quietly get into my sleeping bag in between my sleeping ‘roomies’. Zippers can be so loud when I’m trying to be ninja!
