Leanne felt the force of Evelyn’s shove as she fell back. The push might’ve hurt, but her words hit harder. “You did this!”
She was right. This was all Leah’s fault and she knew it.
She was just trying to help. She was trying to make up for everything she did. But, she didn’t have the right. No matter how many awards in medicine she won, none of it mattered now.

She looked back down the hall where her weapon lay. She knew what she had to do. Leanne walked over to and picked up the gun. She was expressionless. As she lifted the gun to her head, many thoughts flashed through her mind. Some as petty as how she’d never feel the joy of eating a Kit Kat again, but others more disheartening like how Vivian would react. But, she knew it was the right thing to do. After all, she couldn’t bear to have another survivor die because of her. She was actually somewhat content with it. She’d lived a good life, but everyone’s story had to end somehow. She just never imagined it’d be like this. “Goodbye,” she whispered, mostly to herself.
A single tear fell from her eye as she smiled. Her finger curled around the trigger. With a bang, darkness enveloped her and she could finally rest in peace.
