I don’t do this often but I really wanted to share something I have been growing towards.
Recently, I have been exploring work and spaces beyond art, and am starting a path toward marine data collection and conservation. In the spirit of the holidays, I wanted to ask some help from friends and family in pursuing this.
As a kid, I had some introduction to marine biology, followed by an intense obsession with the oceans and bioluminescence (to the point where I ordered some bioluminescent algae from a lab in Texas). In high school, I found art, and it changed my life, but I have been thinking of some of the ways I could help our environment by bringing some of my childhood curiosities back to the surface.
I am raising money to pay for marine conservation certifications and specialties through an amazing program in Utila, Honduras. There, I will be able to not only study the marine life on the second largest coral reef in the world, but I will also be able to help conserve and regrow it; I will be able to observe whale shark migration, and get training in underwater photography, to add to the databases of marine imagery used for global surveying.
With the holidays and my birthday coming up, I just wanted to reach out to friends and share this goal of mine in case you were looking for a gift, this would be the biggest gift you could ever give to me. It’s gonna take some money and time, so literally any amount would help me tremendously.
Donate, read more about it, and please feel free to share #linkinbio
I will be sharing things I learn the, and if you want to talk more about it/ or ask me questions, please feel free. I could talk about all of this so much more.
Thank you and happy holidays everyone!
