Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary’s orphaned rhino, Spirit was caught taking a cheeky, yet playful nudge at her best friend, Grey, while he was focusing on his game with Jemu! Maybe it was a sassy reminder to Grey that Jemu isn’t his best lady-friend, and that SHE is, or maybe it was just a nudge to say, “hey guys, it’s time to go out into the field and play there! Tag, you’re it!” What do you think?

Do you smile because it’s over or smile because you feel accomplished? Maybe it’s a little of both! Today I’m smiling because leg day was hard AF and I didn’t die!! .
Whatever the reason I hope you are smiling at the end of your workout. After all, it’s for YOU so you should enjoy it…or at least not hate it. I keep seeing people post their pictures and a few of them this morning have said how “punishing” it was or it felt like “torture”. YIKES!! The worst part is I can actually relate because I used to be someone who thought workouts were like punishment…for eating a bad meal, for partying all weekend or even the price of admission into those skinny jeans!! And, once upon a time, long ago and before Sophie, it actually worked. .
I could go on a bender all weekend and by Thursday I’d snap back into my size whatever jeans and tank top and be ready for the weekend! NOW, I know there is just no way to go off the rails and be back to baseline without a serious stomach ache, possible hangover (if alcohol is involved) and lots and lots of bloating! It’s frustrating, overwhelming and an awful feeling to not be able to just grab a pair of pants and know they will fit. And, that IS my reality. .
So, I choose. I choose to eat according to my goals and how I know my body likes to be fueling. YES, it includes a daily superfoods shake and it also includes a few Hershey’s Kisses because, well, balance! But, that’s what works for me…lots of veggies, a solid amount of protein, some fruit, healthy fats and a treat here and there. I know what I need because I learned and experimented over time by customizing and adjusting. You can too…if YOU want. But, you have to want to and not just today, or tomorrow, but long term YOU have to want to change. You are capable of anything…if you choose to be..
