2 quick miles today! .
I'm not sure if it's the cold weather, or the fact that I haven't raced in over a year, but I'm finding it so difficult to find motivation to get my runs in lately. I have A TON going on in my personal life right now, both exciting and stressful, and that could be a huge factor. I'm trying to hold myself accountable, but also give myself some leeway. .
There's a very fine line between pushing yourself through those "I don't feel like it" moments, and pushing yourself to the point of burnout, and I think I'm getting close to crossing that line. There's more important things in life than nailing all of my runs, especially right now. That being said, I'm going to give myself a little bit of breathing room and continue to reassess and realign my goals to suit all that I have going on. .
Glad I got this one done, and hopefully I'll get in a few more runs this week!

training. This off season, I’m focusing on less running and more cross-training 🚴🏻♀️ and weight training 🏋🏻♀️ to help build a solid training base.

Estava decidida e inscrita para fazer os 150k da 300, porque queria conhecer a prova, porque não tenho outra prova alvo no primeiro semestre (pra mim a BR encerra o ciclo do ano anterior) e porque queria me desafiar. over here for showing up. As soon as I had any thoughts that I didn’t want to go out in this weather I squashed them because when I couldn’t run in January I would have given anything to run in any weather.
Workout was cruise pace for 6 800s with 60 seconds rest. First 4 right at 312 and then last 2 308, 307. Heart rate stayed low and they were all relaxed. 6 total for the day. I think we are ready to take the training wheels off and go in on training.
I was a bit apprehensive today that we are within 8 weeks to Boston and the longest I have run is 12 miles since January 1. But then I realized I have to stop worrying about miles and totals and just focus on my training. My coach helped me realize that my Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday runs are most important and do those well. I’ve never been a high mileage runner and I will be on the lower end of weekly miles for this marathon cycle, but I’m ready to work with these 8 weeks and give it everything. Workout:2 mi w/u•12x400m with 200m jog recovery (goal pace 642-702)•2 mi c/d. Paces in my story. 👊🏻
This workout was night and day difference compared to my botched tempo run last week. First off- I finished! Secondly- I held my paces! I did walk a bit during recovery in the back half of the workout but I never stopped 🙌🏻
I was hesitant going into this workout. And I don’t think I am the only one who has ever been nervous going into a workout after a terrible one. But what I reminded myself was that: 1. I can do hard things 2. These workouts have been decided based on my performance and my goals. They aren’t willy nilly number pulled from the air. 3. What doesn’t kills us makes us stronger. 💪🏻.

This weekend was filled with so many laughs and so much love from family & friends. It was the perfect way to celebrate my 25th Birthday on Sunday. Thank you to everyone who made it so special, including this gal who ran with me on Saturday and Sunday for 14 total miles of fun! I love that we can simply fall into step beside each other and it's almost like we're back running in college....except now we're just running voluntarily which makes us even more crazy.
I'm headed into my 25-year-old life with a ♥️ full of happy knowing that I am surrounded by an amazing support system - including you! Thank you!
