Run Commuter Pro Tip: on the day of your office holiday party, don't plan to run home from work! #liveandlearn
. Drove in today and did 8 km with some hills before work, so I can happily drive home this afternoon after eating allthetreats.
Cold but sunny!!! 6th run in 3 days (like every #runcommuter
)!! I feal awesome. I really enjoy more my runs when I don't have a training plan. I usually run more and I feal free. Do you have training plans? 😁
Fun to chat with @misszippy1
for her article about dual purpose active wear that takes you from the commute right to work. These clothes would have come in handy earlier this week when I was on off site training and had to wear my run tights all day because my pants were all at the office! 🤦♀️
And sometimes you just have to stop mid run to take a photo

Cada dia doy más vuelta para volver a casa... 🏃♂️💨
Kingsley hurt his paw yesterday so he pulled out of today’s run, which was appropriately to the pet shop for some more food. I’ve run now for 10 consecutive days and my legs are tired. That’s a 30 mile week done. My running has been so consistent of late but with no real purpose or intensity. Seeing my brother @milovsorov
smash his 10k PB after some big mileage shows me what I need to do, but just need to get back into a regime. Hard to balance it all with work and the pack. I feel some New Year resolutions coming on...
Who knew a dog causes so much splash back. A muddy run down the parkland walk with Kingsley before running back.
Apologies to the man whose car I spat on. You see, where your car was when I spat was a zebra crossing that I was waiting at. I had intended to spit on the road when you’d stopped to let me cross, but you clearly didn’t see me. Thanks for doing a U-turn to come and find me and apologise with the wrench or spanner or whatever it was in your hand. Sorry I didn’t stop but I was running and don’t like to stop as it disrupts my rhythm, although I do obey the laws of the road and wait for the cars to stop at zebra crossings. Shame you couldn’t catch up with me, I do highly recommend running to help get fit. I used to be overweight too many years ago but running helped with that as well as deal with my anger issues, which quite clearly you have too. Be warned though, there is a side effect of running that it creates excess phlegm that you need to expectorate... Safe driving 🤤
We have a house guest this week - Charlie. He is less confident running and will get half a mile before digging in his paws and wanting to turn back. So I duly did and dropped him home before carrying on. Saw some Heathsiders heading towards the roller coaster. Can’t wait to get back on it
If you run into a creepy looking guy holding a long stick (think ninja turtles) under a bridge do you:
a) turn around and run the other way
b) speed up and run past
c) hope he'll get tangled up with the cyclist coming in the other direction and leave you alone?
Made it to work (and past stick-man) unscathed on the first of today's double #runcommute
Poor little frozen mole that I found this morning on my run commuting into school 🏃♀️. I hope you lived your best life little guy!
Sandringham loop. This isn’t Sandringham though, this is the house we stayed in for @beeoscarlondon
’s birthday! Too wide for the picture. Good run. Kingsley did well mostly on the lead. Good boy
North Norfolk run from the huge mansion we are staying in (look at this view) to Sandringham Palace (gates) and back. With Kingsley 🐾 so a bit slower than I’d like
For me, living a more simple, sustainable, and minimalist life, means run and walk commuting almost everywhere, every day. This goes for my husband too!
The day that I discovered run commuting, though I hadn’t realized it at the time, was a momentous one. I had discovered a way of life that would later mean living a life with far more balance, time, energy, and fresh perspective.
Originally, I was motivated by time and health. I needed to exercise, but my job and life commitments were becoming such that making time for exercise was increasingly difficult. So, I started running home from work several days a week. I walk to and from on all of the other days. It’s an incredible time saver and I almost always get my three runs in per week!
What I didn’t realize until more recently, was that there’s actually more to it. It’s a sustainable and minimalist practice too! This way of life means that I haven’t purchased a bus pass in three years, so my carbon footprint and my bank account have benefited, not that there is anything wrong with taking the bus (at all!). The only time I rely on modern transport is when I have an engagement that is seriously outside of the city core.
I’ve also learned that I am happier. I always have a buffer zone of time between home and work to mentally prepare or decompress. Not to mention, this way of life forces one to get better at self care! I now feel like I value my body and invest in it more because I rely on it to get around, and I know that if I don’t sleep, eat, and hydrate well, my personal transportation experience is going to suck.
And finally, it has returned a sense of adventure back into the mundane of my daily routine. Sure, it’s just city running, not mountain climbing, but I also run all-seasons in Canada, so I’ve gained what we call "winter warrior" status in the majestic North. Here are some of my winter warrior essentials: yoga, hydration, Epsom salts for bathing, and Shea butter balm!

Felt like a drowned rat today. First mile and half with a slow dog, then running in the driving rain. When will this weather end?!
🏃♂️ A trabajar 🏃♂️.... por el camino largo 👣🤟
I'll be the one at your meeting in the running gear!
I had work training downtown today and with the snow, I didn't want to fight traffic so I ran. Much quicker and less frustrating! (And I promise to bring a change of clothes when I go back for a full day in a couple of weeks!). #runs2work
Running in the countryside is rather nice, but crossing A-Roads is less so. Again, I love nature but hate nettles. Nice little loop this morning with a mile to finish with Kingsley. Back in the smoke now
Family run including my 8 year old nephew for the first few miles.
7k trail and road run. -26°C . Today the sun is not warming, it's just like the light you have in your freezer. 😶
7km de trail et de route. -26°C. Aujourd'hui le soleil ne réchauffe pas, c'est comme une lumière de congélateur. 😶
*you’re - sums up my life at the moment. In between weekends away, moving house and working late, I’ve never been so busy. My running is having to be squeezed in around the commute and I’ve not even had time to post my runs 🙀. Can’t wait to be back north and closer to training
One of the hardest things about running to and from work is dealing with the weather changes as the day goes on. Usually the temperatures warm up in the afternoon, so I dress in layers for my morning run and ditch them in the office. Today though, a cold front is moving in and it's going to feel like February by the time I head home. Filling my pockets with extra warm gear and hoping for the best!

So close, yet so far. Beautiful run around Amsterdam this morning. Slightly hungover
When you're stepping through ankle deep snow, can you even call it a run? Sloggy snowy #runcommute
but made it where I need to be!
First run around Amsterdam. Rude buildings
Lunchtime run through Regent’s Park
