✌🏼Goodbye Utah, you’ve been good to me. The road trip to S. Carolina wasn’t bad necessarily, just miserably long; glad I had my Daddy with me. It’s my first night here alone, I still don’t have keys to my apartment, but I’m trying to settle in and prepare for work tomorrow. So many emotions happening all at once. I’ve settled for “weird” to describe how I feel right now. Stay tuned, y’all. Despite my allergies 😩
One of the perks of running an online business: I can work from anywhere in which I have internet. However, this is the first time I've ever tried to take my biz mobile. It's going okay given I had very little planning time and no hot spot.
When I look at this map of how far I’ve driven by myself, I feel a little overwhelmed and giddy with courage, amazement and pride.
Especially considering the farthest I had ever driven alone was a few months prior to the trip when I drove six hours from Portland, Oregon to Etna, California to work my first fire camp!
Why did I want to take such a long trip?
I had three objectives when I put my belongings in storage:
1) Have an adventure and see this beautiful, diverse country I call home.
2) Extend the reach and impact of my business, Sew Like A Pro™, in the ballroom and skate worlds. Plus, meet some of my sewing school members. (Check out SewLikeAPro.com if you want more info.)
3) Visit my dad, brother and his family on the east coast.
At the beginning of 2018, my sister-in-law in North Carolina was diagnosed with stage four metastatic breast cancer that had spread to multiple areas of her body. I run an online business. I figured I'd try taking the business mobile so I could head east and help out the family.
