Looking at child restraint usage and injuries there is a very real concern around our older kids. So many children are removed far too early from a child restraint making them extremely vulnerable.
The law in NZ is not enough and does not keep our children safe. Our law dictates children are required to be in a child restraint until they are 7 years old or 8 if there’s a restraint in the vehicle they correctly fit. Best practice is when your child is approx 148cm tall and able to pass the 5 step test. This is an average 10-12 year old child. .
Over the next week I’m going to put lots of information up on how to keep our bigger kids as safe as possible.
Stay tuned and share the love with any friends or family that could benefit!
