Last week I quit my job at @apple
to pursue photography full time. This was one of the hardest decisions for me to make because I absolutely loved working at Apple - the people, the environment, and the culture made me realize why Apple is such a successful and amazing company. I left my 401k, my benefits, working with friends, etc. to go out on my own. I am both nervous yet excited to head out on this new journey in life. I know God has a plan for me, and I just have to trust him through the process. I will be starting my own LLC which will focus on visual content creation, marketing, and advertising. Please give my new account @captureandconquermedia
a follow! Over these next few months I will be working on finalizing my company⚡️. I also recently got a studio space in Cleveland at @lakeaffectstudios
! I will be sharing the space with a few other talented Cleveland photographers. If you want to shoot with me either outside or in the studio, I will be available! Don’t be afraid to hit me up. 🤘🏼#ClevelandGram
“You can’t fail if you don’t quit.” 🌻 I heard this today and it spoke to MY. SOUL. This is my new life motto. Even when things get tough. Even when life kicks my ass. (Like this past week - to top it off, my car broke down today 🤘🏼) Even when things keep happening “to” me. Even when I’m tired. Even when I’m uncomfortable. THIS IS HOW WE GROW! 👉🏼 I. Won’t. Quit. 👈🏼 And I want 5️⃣ other women with the SAME DAMN MINDSET to RUN WITH ME. 🔥 I’m talking about changing our lives, being brave, changing other people’s lives, women who really want to freakin WORK + make a difference in the world. ♥️ take control of our lives and paths rather than just letting life happen to us — otherwise, seriously what’s the point? Sooo ... are you gonna be one of them? I’m talking NO excuses. You have to be serious. I’ll pick my 5 over the next week! 💕 applications get first priority, and my DMs are open as well. must not be a coach already or working with another 💋 my girl, you will not regret this. I can promise you that. you ready to level up and say FUCK YES to LIFE? ✨ link in biooooo. can’t wait to hear from you!
I have the best job! My office in Zion also oversees the museum collections in Bryce Canyon and Cedar Breaks, so today I got to take a work field trip to Bryce and spend some of the day soaking up this view 😎
“I know I speak for many when I say being in the tranquility of nature has more benefits than a paid counselling session. It’s like a high I never thought possible every time I reach that peak, that waterfall, that view. Hiking is my chosen method of galavanting in this world. To say it’s taught me a lot is an understatement, but a lesson I think we all learn from this activity is how to really appreciate the “right now”.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you put so much effort into reaching a moment that will only last a tenth of the length the actual journey itself did, you better learn to appreciate the climb. That goes for life, too. All the switch backs through life, the ups and downs, the rocky terrain, the flat alpine meadows, the little glimmer of that jaw dropping view you know is coming.. those are all relatable check points through life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So long story short, learning to appreciate the climb is huge, because the journey itself will always last 10 times longer than the reward, and what a waste not to perceive the journey as part of the reward, too.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Wild is my favorite color 🍂
i never know what day it is anymore 🤦🏻♀️ here’s a nice sunset to make your ____day !
For the past few days, I’ve been back in the city I call home ❤️🇩🇪 I have to wear actual pants and shoes again but that’s ok because I also get to eat bread and be around my friends and family. Berlin is a great city to come back to after an adventure and I absolutely love the atmosphere here. That being said, I’m leaving again tomorrow 😜
For somebody who loves moss as much as I do, this whole scene is heaven. There is so many different kinds of life, in the tiniest of areas! I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how there is resilience through diversity. I first heard about it in a documentary about permaculture and they were explaining how monocropping isn't resilient. If you farm one thing, and a virus comes in to eat that thing, your whole crop is dead. But if you have multiple kinds, you wouldn't take as much of a hit. There are other diverse crops to feed on. This has been a strong theme in my life ever since hearing that. Resilience through diversity. I've realized how many facets of my life I can utilize this idea: income, mental health practices, physical health practices, friendships, ideas for a project, etc. I wonder: how can I create my life to be this resilient beautiful blooming garden so that when a virus comes in to eat something (because it will), it doesn't knock me over?
A backside view of halfdome and Nevada falls on the JMT. Funny, on this Yosemite trip is the first time we had noticed that halfdome is on every California driver license!
Me senti num filme da Disney nesse parque. Que lugar lindo! Rosedal perfeito! 🌹
Well hello New Hamphire, you're looking gorgeous 🔥
It’s the little things in life that give us so much joy ✨
Waking up and racing to catch the sun’s first kiss on a waterfall is always a grand decision.

! little lupe calls me ALICE and if you have traveled with us then you might be familiar with a faint but strong shout from around the corner, in the background or behind her mother. we bring groups to teresa's home to learn about the weaving process, hang out with the family and ultimately share the experience of the indigenous lifestyle in rural guatemala. teresa has 8 children and lupe is the youngest. i've known lupe since she was born and once she reached her "terrible twos" she was not as keen in participating in home visits or me spending so much time with her mom. [i totally get it, imagine 2 straight hours of visitors in your house and stealing your moms attention] so, i got into the habit of telling her "vamos a la tienda" if she can patient us being in her house and working with her mom. if you know guatemala then you know the tienda is filled with lots of yummy goodies! and lupe knew it was my treat. meaning, the entire two hours while i am translating for travelers, assisting with weaving lessons and placing orders with teresa, lupe is in the background shouting "ALICE! vamos a la tienda!" and when i don't answer fast enough, it's just Alice!!!!!! @ericalatack
Weeks ago I started planning a four day backpacking trip into Sequoia wilderness. I recruited my best friend to come along, begged my boss to give us the days off, and sent @kenztastrophe
off to @rei
to beef up her backcountry arsenal. Everything was set. I was packed. And then on the morning we were slated to head out there, Kenz rolled her ankle pretty bad. It felt like a cruel twist of fate for sure- it was my bad ankle that kept me off my feet for 6 months and then out of the backcountry for another 6. Now someone else’s bad ankle threatened to jeopardize my redemption stroll?!? So whack. Rather than choosing to make the walk solo, I pitched switching up the plan and heading for Tahoe instead. This ended up being the greatest news of all time for lil Nagi, who had no clue at all how dangerously close she came to not being invited on our multi day national park soirée. At first I couldn’t be sure whether I made the right choice in ditching my big hike, and I guess I’ll never know- but after a little trial and error, I’m happy to report that we found exactly what we were searching for on the shores of Lake Tahoe. 💕
"I believe that life is a game, that life is a cruel joke, and that life is what happens when you're alive and that you might as well lie back and enjoy it.” ― Neil Gaiman, American Gods ✌ Sometimes it's a lot of work but I'm here to cruise through this shit show we call the human condition with a smile on my face. Put forth the effort and the universe responds in kind.. like with this incredible morning view 😍
So excited to walk into married life with you in just a few days. Let the lifetime of adventures begin 💙🥂🏔
GOODBYES | I know saying goodbye to people we love can be hard 😕 Saying goodbye to people who used to suck the energy out of us on the other hard can feel good, joyful and it can be the biggest step stone for us to a completely different life. These people came to our life because they had a purpose, they had a role to play in our lives and you know, no play out there last forever.
Don’t feel mad, don’t feel angry about them they came to your life for a reason, say thank you to have them in your life as without them you would never get where you’re right now.
You are strong.
You are powerful.
You are simply freaking amazing for what you’ve achieved already!
GO & be fabulous today, right now! 💕
My girl, my girl, don't you lie to me
Tell me where did you sleep last night
In the pines, in the pines
Where the sun don't ever shine
I would shiver the whole night through

As we continue to pack up and get ready for life on the road, I've found myself baking until late hours of the night, throughout the weekend and every time an idea pops into my head, which is the child of these Chai Sugar Cookies right here. I know soon enough, my hands will be busy cheering for our newly married friends, holding Bri's in the car, getting dusty in Moab, getting raisiny in hot springs, blissfully filling up on BBQ, hugging our families and packing for the next adventure. I'm having so much fun using my hands to create sugary goodness in the meantime. Head to the blog (link in bio) for the recipe!!
