🏋️♀️Why Everyone Should Squat Different⤵️
❓Do you think everyone should squat the same? What is a requirement and what is acceptable?
👉This week I’ll be covering a ton of content on squatting. Tomorrow I’ll be sharing a product that features my presentations - All Things Squats, Knees, and Hips. In it I discuss a range of topics, such as why every should squat different. Let’s talk about it!
🙌Humans are awesome! We are these diverse, adaptive, and unique people functioning together. Squatting is a movement that we often discuss within our cultures. Some people have touted we should follow strict guidelines within the context of squatting - toes forward, hips torqued, etc. Unfortunately these arbitrary rules don’t really coincide with human anatomy.
🦵To perform a squat, we are looking for motion from our hips, knees, and ankles. What we know though is that not everyone’s hips, knees and ankles are the same. We have anatomical variation across people. This ranges from varying kinds of hind foot formations, differing tibial plateaus, to a range of version characteristics of femurs. The result? A ton of different ways people may squat.
👁Keep your eyes peeled for more on this as the week progresses!
