The quiet of a cool morning walk.

23. If I could summarize this past year into one word it would be growth. Personal growth. Relationship growth. Job growth. I grew in almost way I can think. I challenged myself to learn a new skill. I pushed myself to become better at my craft. It started by purchasing our loft. This loft is really a dream place to me and to be able to wake up everyday here just inspires me about all the things that are possible in the world. One of my favorite things is experiencing new places and even more, I love experiencing them with Meghan. We went to San Francisco and then to Utah. I asked Meghan to spend the rest of her life with me at one of the prettiest places I've ever seen. A month or two later an opportunity came up for me to take on several video projects. I have shot video for several years now but wanted nothing to do with editing because of how much time and talent is needed to form a compelling story. I jumped head first into a brand new world of video editing. As with any new skill it was nerve racking at first. I was worried if I would be able to finish an acceptable product but if you really want to learn something I believe anything is possible. I was so blessed to be able to complete several more video projects throughout the year, even one that appeared on TV! It still blows my mind that I am fortunate enough to be able to do what I love for a living. I always love challenging myself to be better, at anything I do I strive to be my best. So, for the last 15 days I have been on a sugar free diet. No sugar whatsoever, that means no fruit, no dairy, no carbs, even certain nuts (who knew cashews had sugar in them?!). It's been challenging but honestly I have really enjoyed it. It has forced me to learn new recipes or adapt old ones that I already used. I have lost 10lbs so far but more importantly I feel a much more even and balanced energy level. With all that I have done and accomplished this past year I have a weird feeling that it is just a fraction of what I am to accomplish this next year. I can't wait to see what is in store for this year. I also can not wait to marry my best friend😏
Because it had a rock on it. That's the only reason I took this picture.
You guys voted to see it! My very first Ridgid brushed impact vs the latest and greatest gen 3 brushless impact from Milwaukee.... since we know who wins that fight lets toss in the Bosch freak brushless impact with the largest & newer designed core battery vs the gen 3! So cool to see Milwaukee make such powerful tools while being smaller than the rest.
I can’t wait until the sea pancakes come back from their summer vacations.
Have you picked up one of our new Detroit shirts yet?! 👉 link in bio | PC: @kristenrosephoto_
Social media. Honestly ask yourself how much time you spend on it. Probably a decent amount? We all do. We don't have enough time to call all our friends on a daily basis, or stop in our favorite stores to see what's new. So we hop on Instagram. As business owners, we need to look at social as a way to CONNECT. Actually BE social. 82% of consumers trust companies that are involved in social media. So business owners, here are some of my go-to Instagram tips.
Quality > quantity. Make sure you're not posting "just to post." At 10 o'clock at night. Because you forgot. And now you're tired. Because you ran a business all damn day. Make a plan when your mind is available. Make sure your posts are relative. And post consistently. 3 times a week, minimum. If you take a break, the algorithm knows. 5 times a week is even better.
Add variety, not JUST photos. Video is huge to get engagement. It can be something small like a Boomerang of your open flag waving in the wind. Or you can hire people like me to create something a little fancier that you can also put on your website to boost your rankings in Google.
Wait, what exactly is "engagement?" It's any time someone interacts with your page. A like, comment, click, etc. The higher your engagement on the post, the more the algorithm will find it "popular" and have it show up on more feeds. So "like" all your customers' comments. And respond!
Download the Canva app. Create your own graphics. It's user-friendly. And free! Watch my story today to see some I made with the app. .

Let's chat about hashtags, the correct dimensions for photos, and all the other little details that add up to make sure the oh-so picky Instagram algorithm likes you as much as your customers do. Or just hire me to do your account for you so you can get back to building your business. 😜

What is a Michigander?
Sunday evening when I was racing time to catch the sunset, this collection of chrome hub caps reflecting the golden glow of the waning sun caught the corner of my eye. Hastily I turned around to grab a few pics of Americana. As I went to knock on the door to ask permission it was already opening, and I asked the grey haired smiling man if I could snap a few photos of his collection tacked on the side of his barn. The man enthusiastically exclaimed, "You betcha!" Then I noticed he proudly displayed the Shelby Rd sign and Michigan plate, and when combined with his kind demeanor, I knew he was a true Michigander. □
How do you define a Michigander? If you don't know how to define one, tag someone who is one ✋
My favorite boys doing their favorite winter thing ❄️
Tonight James and I went out for a spontaneous Tuesday date night. We talked about our days, our business plans, and I asked James if we should go hiking in Canada or diving in the Caribbean this year. We didn’t decide. But now we are eating cheesecake on the couch watching the Lion King. So pretty awesome date night if you ask me. This is 26 and I love it. #agirlandakiwiandariver
