“Everyone you meet has something to teach you “
RAW AF MONDAY: Since I can remember, I’ve never felt good about myself. I never felt accepted and I never felt I belonged. I don’t blame anyone as it was just my path. I remember how desperate I had been to feel a part of, to maybe feel like everyone else. I would do things that others did because it was cool or trendy or made others more socially acceptable. This led to some dark paths and loss of income for sure. With the advent of social media, this just got worse. Folks did everything to show how wonderful they are and how socially acceptable they are and how successful they are. Despite my own pretty huge successes, it still wasn’t enough. Then I had the opportunity to maybe get a contract to be a published writer through Harper Collins. Yeah, one of the top five book publishers in the world. At first, that voice of fear, that vey loud voice, wanted me to think it wouldn’t happen. Then when I wouldn’t listen to that voice, it changed its tone and got me to think “not only will this contact make you socially acceptable, you’re gonna be so much better than these folks on social media.” I then turned into something I hate. I became the very people I hated because I though that would make me socially acceptable. Then the deal didn't go through and I was in despair, ignoring my business and as well as writing. All it took was one call from my accountant to sober me up. Thankfully, I have always been a man of action and have taken the steps to rectify the situation. Wanting to be socially acceptable and special lead to potential problems for my business and those it serves. No matter I do, I need to accept (and I do today more so than usual) myself and know that who I am (not matter what I am doing) is special. WHO I AM MAKES ME SPECIAL. Today is my Saturday, as I don't work on Mondays or Tuesdays. Saying I don't work on these days is far from true however, as 'work' by definition to me is something I have to do to gain an outcome but don't necessarily enjoy. So work today has included two loads of washing...thank heavens is a nice sunny day, house work...yes it's that time of the month. Tidied my wood shed in preparation for making a printing area and made a dozen felted soaps. It is now 4.45pm, I am sitting in glorious autumn sunshine on the step, pretty worn out, but feeling that I have achieved a lot and that my evening is now my own to enjoy. Will it be painting or writing, perhaps another cup of coffee before I make that decision.
An old image of me.. I had these sad eyes. A psychology lecturer that I admire once said that the melody in our childhood defines later melodies in our lives.. we tune into the melody that we grow up with (often in interactions with important adults and others). Nowadays, I tune into the light, bright melodies.. And (learn to) create new, bright mental habits.. I like my old melancholy and sadness,and still in some way it is part of me. It always will be. We are humans. And humans have emotions. Sad and happy go hand in hand,moments pass. We accept it and let it flow. As I read recently: feelings also have feelings. We are children all our lives. Esse texto da Vera Iaconelli traz uma reflexão importante: vemos muitas mães acreditando que têm que dar conta de várias coisas sozinha, cuidar e educar os filhos, cuidar da casa, trabalhar, cuidar do casamento... E ainda se sentindo surpresa e culpada quando vê que, simplesmente, não dá! Quem disse que isso tudo tem que ser assim? . "DESAMPARO DO BEBÊ OU DA MÃE? Os cuidados com o bebê vêm adquirindo contornos obsessivos Donald Winnicott era um pediatra que se tornou um dos grandes psicanalistas de nosso tempo. Como pediatra, teve acesso às mães desde os primórdios de sua relação com seus bebês, e nos ofereceu sacadas de gênio. Uma das pérolas de Winnicott era a seguinte frase: "o bebê não existe" ("There's no such thing as a baby"). Para quem não dorme faz meses por causa de um cara "que não existe", essa frase pode soar como um deboche, mas a ideia é bem interessante. Só existe um bebê para um adulto. Dito de outra forma, sem o adulto, não há bebê como tal, pois a dependência do recém-nascido daquele que dele se ocupa é absoluta. Nossa sobrevivência, física e psíquica, dependeu da boa vontade de estranhos. Desse fato fundamental nos resta a marca de nosso desamparo primordial e o reconhecimento de nossa finitude. Seguindo o raciocínio de Winnicott, somos todos filhos de alguém que, necessariamente, nos acolheu no momento fundante de nossa existência, caso contrário, não estaríamos aqui a compartilhar essas linhas, eu que escrevo e você que as lê. Alguém esteve lá para nós. Independentemente da qualidade desse acolhimento, em algum nível ele foi suficiente para que um sujeito emergisse e seguisse sua vida. Esse preâmbulo é uma tentativa de apontar o mal-estar que um filme como "Tully" (2018), em cartaz, causa. O filme é simples, bem distante do roteiro e da direção engenhosos que Diablo Cody foi capaz de produzir em "Juno" (2007), mas tem como grande mérito a profunda interpretação de Charlize Theron. O mal-estar decorre do fato de que, no drama do casal de classe média com dois filhos cuja esposa está grávida de um terceiro bebê inesperado e o marido compreensivo se esforça para bancar as contas, não há nada de novo. Uma das grandes dificuldades dos dias atuais é entendermos que cada um tem o seu próprio tempo. A competição e a comparação tomou conta das relações. Agora passamos nossos dias baseando nossas conquistas na conquista dos Outros. Fazemos de tudo para termos em 30 dias o corpo magérrimo daquela blogueira; almejamos ter aos 30 anos o carro daquele magnata de 70; idealizamos ter com 4 anos de carreira o sucesso daquele profissional que está há mais de 20 anos no mercado. Desejamos dar conta de “tudo”, ser melhor que “todos” e de preferência no menor tempo possível...Mas nessa correria desenfreada do desejo e da comparação, nos deparamos com o Real, com falhas, com limitações...nos frustramos, deprimimos, nos invalidamos... passamos a nos sentir um Nada em meio a Outros que parecem imaginariamente serem tudo... E vc sabe pq isso acontece? Não é porque não somos capazes de conseguir o que almejamos, mas pq estamos baseando nossas expectativas e desejos nos outros. Já não traçamos o nosso próprio caminho, estamos ocupados demais tentando traçar o mesmo caminho que os demais. Mas o que ganhamos com isso? Eu diria que: Nada! Exactly!!! To heal from pain and hurt, you have to forgive those who have caused it. If you get stuck with hurtful emotions, you will never find peace and it would be difficult for you to heal. Forgiveness gives you peace, it gives you happiness, it gives you health and also helps you to grow. In life everyone would have all type of experiences. What i say, what i eat, how i act, what i look @ online, what i buy, self-care, etc..). The second circle is the concern circle which we spend time and energy on things you can't control "reactive".
