"30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel."
Going through the Come, Follow Me - New Testament manual for 2019 Sunday School, the first two chapters of Matthew and Luke highlight a number of different, faithful people. Specifically the scriptures above giving a brief insight of the faith of Simeon, a devout and just follower of God and whom the Spirit revealed he would see Christ before he died. Having blessed the Baby Jesus in the temple, he stated the words above and many others which marveled Mary and Joseph.
In a brief read over for us and over some time for them we see the faith, devotion, and obedience to the Lord, Christ, and the Holy Ghost by Elisabeth, Zacharias, Joseph, Mary, Simeon, Anna, Wise Men, the Shepherds, and many more. All these people had marvelous revelations, either through the Holy Ghost and/or an angel, even amidst their trials and tribulations of life because they remained faithful to God and disciples of Christ.
So it is we have these few words over the expanse of a time yet their example is plain and simple: be devout in trusting God, fear not, and remain faithful. It has been from Adam and Eve even until our very day with the Restored Church of Jesus Christ led by President Russell M. Nelson and many million members around the world as well those who have not tasted of this truth but are remaining faithful.
