Little recap on my Genji Baihu weapons process for the #OWcosplaybattle
. I've been working on this since mid december.
First I 3D modelled (in Fusion 360) both weapons and cases, then I printed their opaque and transparent pieces in PLA plastic. It took about 200 printing hours! (my Creality CR-10 performed perfectly all process long).
After that, I joined all their parts together using wooden studs and threaded rods. All fixed using epoxy glue and epoxi putty.
I poured @feroca.soluciones
's Translux D150 resin inside the characters to integrate the blades surface and installed a led strip inside to make them glow.
Once joined, it was time to sand like I've never sanded before. I've easily spent 150h sanding these bois. First with the machine (grain 80> 120 > 240 > 400), then by hand same grains and water sanding for the final details.
A couple priming and detail sanding after, I was done!! Now it's time to give these props to @fonteart
from him to masterfully paint them. Can't wait to see the result!! Genji Baihu project is being made along with @ireneskyworld
(clothing, fur and sewing) and @fonteart
(foam armor making and painting). Sponsored by @overwatcheu @blizzard
