Drawing Challenge Day 13
Betito. A Love Story.
Betito was a cute little lovebird. He would sing and scream all day depending on his mood, and if you tried grabbing him he would bite your fingers and cause unimaginable pain. Soon after we got him, while his cage was getting cleaned, his girlfriend flew away. She left before we could give her a name. A year or so later I bought him another girlfriend. They wouldn't interact much so I suspected something was up. Then she started looking sick. The next day I came to check on her and she was dead. She was gone before we named her too. Finally, I thought may be it was best for him to stay alone.
A little while later I couldn't keep him anymore, so my mom adopted him. She decided to introduce him to my cousin Pablo's lovebird, Chumpira. She was so gentle and sweet. I wasn't there the first encounter but was told it was love at first sight. My cousin and my mom saw that the two lovebirds loved each other so much and so instantly that they decided to keep them together. Chumpira and Betito expressed their love for each other all the time. They were inseparable. They started tearing up paper and crumpling it for a nest. We were so happy for them. They even laid a few eggs. The future looked so bright. Chumpira had softened Betito's heart, but no one could have predicted what would happen next.
One day my cousin had the two lovebirds at his place, when suddenly Chumpira wasn't in sight. After an extensive search, they found the unfortunate truth: she had been attacked by one of the dogs and had passed away.
Betito was alone again. She was his last and only love. He lived a few more years, and then flew up to meet his love again in heaven. 💕
