Good morning! Here are the main meals I ate yesterday! 😋
Those of you that know me know I was NEVER the type to meal prep 😭 I love food way too much, but here I am! A month ago I started becoming more strict with my diet because I felt I wasn’t seeing enough results as I wanted. This shit really works y’all! Thought it’d be annoying to be counting my macros but to get the results you want, some things have to change and your diet plays a major part. You can be going to the gym 5x a week, but if your diet is crap, it’s honestly a waste of time 🤷🏾♀️. Since I live a very active lifestyle and I’m always on the go, in order for me to continue gaining weight I also have to drink a protein shake to make sure I reach my daily caloric intake. .
💥Breakfast: Spinach omelette, wheat toast, strawberries, Naked Mass Protein Shake (highly recommended shake for weight gain or a meal replacement, must have an active lifestyle)
💥Lunch: Roasted turkey & shrimp avocado kale salad .
💥Dinner: Baked chicken breast, sweet potatoes, broccoli .

RAZONES POR LAS QUE NO BAJAS DE PESO AUNQUE COMES SANO 🤷🏼♀️ Si a pesar de tus esfuerzos sientes que estás estancado hay varias posibles causas: 🔻No controlas tus porciones! Creo que esta es la más común 🤦🏼♀️ mucha gente come sano pero en cantidades MAYORES a las adecuadas ➡️ comen calorías de más❗️El exceso calórico (así sea de alimentos sanos o de comida chatarra) hace que no bajes de peso 🙅🏼♀️ Así que hay que cuidar la calidad pero también la cantidad de lo que comemos 🍽 🔻Te excedes con las grasas buenas 🥑🥥🌰🥜 aceite de oliva o de coco, aguacate, crema de cacahuate, nueces, etc. son super sanos pero ALTAMENTE CALÓRICOS y es muy fácil pasarse con las cantidades así que ojo! Volvemos a lo mismo, hay que controlar porciones 😉 🔻Abusas de los snacks y postres “healthy” pensando que no engordan 🍫🍪 Chocolate amargo, galletas integrales, botanitas, etc. Aunque estén hechos con ingredientes más saludables NO necesariamente son bajos en calorías❗️Por eso siempre hay que revisar la info nutricional. 🔻Comes muy sano de lunes a viernes 🥗🥙🍏🥦🥒 pero el fin de semana todo se va al caño 🍕🍔🌭🍟🍝🍰🍻🍷Demasiadas comidas libres, botanas, postres, alcohol, etc. anulan el avance que lograste en la semana. 🔻Endulzas tus alimentos o bebidas con “azúcar saludable” por ejemplo azúcar mascabado, azúcar de coco, miel, agave, etc. La diferencia entre esos y el azúcar blanca es mínima en cuanto al beneficio para la salud así como en las calorías! Para el cuerpo es azúcar a fin de cuentas así que evítalos y mejor utiliza stevia. 🔻Tomas bebidas light 🥤Este tipo de bebidas no “engordan” pero SÍ HINCHAN y mucho! No se imaginan la retención de líquidos que provocan 💦 así que sí afectan tu peso aunque sean “cero calorías”. 🔻En la mañana te vas a hacer ejercicio en ayunas 🏋🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🔥 Dependiendo del tipo y la cantidad de ejercicio que hagas puede ser que estés quemando MÚSCULO en lugar de GRASA si no comes nada antes y eso afecta negativamente tu metabolismo! 🔻Tienes algún desbalance hormonal como hipotiroidismo u ovario poliquístico (es la minoría de los casos pero puede suceder). Hazte análisis 💉 para checar que todo esté bien 👍🏻

WHO IN THIS HOUSE SELF REGULATES?! We all chubby. We all love food.
Time to manage him better and find his waistline again.

I’ve been a little quiet on here because that has been taking up a lottttt of my time after school most days tbh haha
Hopefully I can get my butt in gear and finish it early so I have time to relax & not have to stress about making my final submission!😬
But for now, I’m just going to enjoy today and not stress about the edtpa because we have about 70 high schoolers coming from the area to spend the day with the kiddos! -
Today marks one year since the school shooting at the high school, so those students are taking the day to give back to the community in honor of all of their help since that day!💚
Spring 2016 I bought a flat screen TV. My first ever! I lived with a guy who was into expensive electronics and my parents had a TV when I took care of Dad till he died. 5.5 years I lived with parents part-time. Not because he was sick, but because he was old and visually impaired. Physically and mentally fit, but unable to drive or read. But the mounting has proved challenging. And truthfully, a New Yorker who works in theater and music (and has money for live entertainment) really doesn’t need a TV. As a cabaret critic, then theater critic who is a member of @officialtdf
(which I am SO grateful exists), I was often out 4-5 nights a week.
And if not out at shows, I was out at @equinox.
My favorite way to spend a night without theater or music was at the gym, whether taking yoga or not. That isn’t possible now. Sadly I have essentially had to quit my love and passion in life, Iyengar yoga. One month no class. And I am unable to work out the way I have. I just eat less because traveling to a gym far away I don’t like is too sad. I won’t get fat (I’ve been fitness junkie since 13 years old), but it’s a drag. Happily vodka has a low glycemic index, as does gin.
So now I need a functional TV. My last wall mount failed and I just never felt motivated. I have a friend with whom I watch @sho_billions.
Once a week when he’s in town—often he’s out of America for work—we watch something. I saw @maiseltv
and some @killingeve.
We loved Wanted, an Australian drama starring the magnificent Rebecca Gibney.
But the point of living in Manhattan and paying more for 500 feet than most Americans pay for a mortgage on a house of several thousand feet, is taking advantage of culture. Dance, theater, music, opera, lectures...
If none of that mattered to me I’d be living in a palatial apartment in far out Queens or the 180s or Inwood. I live in the lower 60s because it is across from Equinox 63 and under 15 minutes from a dozen other clubs I enjoyed spending time.
The irony: I grew up around TV. Many of my friend’s fathers had Emmys. Maya Rudolph and Gwyneth Paltrow were classmates I’ve just been out of the TV loop for 7-8 years. #uppereastside #tv #imissyoga #portioncontrol

About 3 months ago I said to my hubby- that’s it- I’m just gonna need a tummy tuck when I’m officially done having babies (he says we’re done... id like 1 or 2 more 🤷♀️- but that’s a story for another day lol) •
That little mom pooch drives me crazy, I felt like I couldn’t get rid of it no matter how hard I worked. It was frustrating and discouraging. I’ve never been the girl with 6 pack abs ... not even at 10 years old... but it’s nice to see your hard work paying off right? •
So in July I had, had enough. I gave up the notion that I was still 18 and could kick my butt in the gym and eat whatever I wanted. I finally started really eating well 80% of the time. Tracking my macros and yes my calories. No meal replacement shakes. Just real food. I still cheat, I still have drinks, but I watch my portions and take my time. And within weeks I could see the difference. •
So moral of the story is- like grandma said- you really are what you eat. 🤷♀️😘

I cooked vegan food. Unintentionally. And it's delicious! I just threw everything I had in the fridge that was already cooked together in a big pan. Spaghetti squash, egg plant, lentil and tomato sauce. Vegan cheese on top. 👌👌👌 Ich habe veganes Essen gekocht. Alles was schon seit paar Tage gekocht war kam zusammen in eine Pfanne. Spaghettikürbis, Aubergine, Linsen und pürierte Tomaten. Vegane Käse drauf und fertig. Super lecker!

Super easy and good way to wean your way off chocolate 👌🏼👌🏼 INGREDIENTS 🌱
12 Medjool dates or 24 soaked pitted dates
1 cup almond meal or protein
1/2 cup shredded coconut, plus 1/3 cup extra for rolling
1/3 cup coconut oil
1/3 cup cacao powder
1 tablespoon chia seeds
Place dates in a medium bowl and cover with water. Stand for 1 hour. Drain and discard seeds.
Process (in a food processor) dates, almond meal, shredded coconut, coconut oil, cacao powder and chia seeds until mixture comes together. Transfer to a bowl and stand for 20 minutes for chia seeds to soften.
Place remaining coconut in a shallow dish.
Roll level tablespoons of mixture into balls. Roll in coconut to coat.
Enjoy 😍 *Remember, these are still a treat, such just because they're made from 'clean' products, doesn't mean they're not calorie dense. I enjoy these as I find just one ball hits the cravings as my sweet fix, but if you consume too many, it will be just as calorie dense as chocolate.
