How sea cucumber poops 😀
Sea Cucumber Poop Is Surprisingly Good For the Ecosystem
There are about 1,250 different species of sea cucumber across the world's oceans. This is Thelenota anax. And yes, it's doing what you think it's doing. Sea cucumber poop is surprisingly important for the ecosystem. This one picks up sediment with an array of tentacles and stuffs it into its mouth. Sea cucumbers digest organic material and eject everything else. So, what comes out is actually cleaner than what went in. "Cleaner" sand may prevent algal blooms, which can cause fish to suffocate from lack of oxygen. Also, subtropical seagrass beds appear to grow better wherever sea cucumbers are around. Coral reefs benefit from the alkalinity of the sea cucumbers droppings, buffering them from the effects of ocean acidification. Sea cucumbers don't look the part, but they have an important role underwater.

Thank you so much 👌🏻👌🏻
I went to setup the phone for a picture, and right as I was sitting down the nurse opened the door and I actually got a candid shot! SWEET!! And she didn’t even notice my camera setup so I didn’t feel like a total weirdo. Double whammy sweetness. .
Today my angel step mother stepped in and saved my day when I was trying to juggle holding a crying pukey kid, hungry babies rolling across the floor and Teddy trying to eat edamame hummus for breakfast. I was standing in the middle of my house not knowing what to do. I have a hard time asking for help. First thing when she got here she told me to go take a nap. She folded laundry, vacuumed, organized, cleaned another episode of vomit and diarrhea, washed dishes, wiped down surfaces, including my very neglected bathroom, AND fed all three of my babies when I left. She has no idea how much her kindness and service brought me back to life and have me feeling equipped to make it through another day. She is my angel. My dad said, “You can’t have her, she’s mine!” I love my family. I have it good. .

Even ancient statues go with the grain.
Damn it, how you do that😮
Some of you aren’t washing your feet and it really shows… uh, smells. Soap’s magic is only activated once you’ve scrubbed and created a lather, so letting old lather run down your gams isn’t gonna get the job done. Your feet (or any body parts, for that matter) are only truly clean when you scrub them down yourself.
Getting myself in the #baboon
mood 🐒 Primates have the longest juvenile growth period compared to all other mammals and we’re still not sure why this is. This summer I’ll be in Kenya watching little baboons eat, grow, and poop. I’ll collect that poop and ship it back to Rutgers where I’ll analyze it for various hormones. The results of this #fieldwork
will give us an indication of social and nutritional stress that juveniles experience. This is essential for understanding the evolutionary history of the extended primate juvenile growth period. #WomenInSTEM
