It's estimated that over 500 million plastic straws are used every day just in the US alone! They're toxic for animals and the environment but there are alternatives. Switch to reusable straws like bamboo and metal, or when you're enjoying a refreshing beverage at a bar, cafe or restaurant, simply say NO to single use plastic straws 🚫👎
Say no to single use plastic straw.
We know that banning plastic straws won’t save the ocean... but it HELPS! A small plastic straw is something that comes with most beverages that we order. Though as much innocent as these might seem, with the US using 500 million plastic straws every day (enough to circule around the Earth 2.5 times! And we just talking about the US) you can imagine how it creates a big problem for the environment. Start with small steps, avoiding drinking beverages with straws for example, it will make a difference as smaller as it seems 💚

Treat every beverage like how you drink beer. Say NO to plastic straws!
Yesterday my boyfriend and I climbed to the top peak in sunny Kusadasi. The view's were breathtaking and so worth the walk however behind the beauty is the ugly truth of what our home is becoming. Swipe to see. .
Since taking an interest in trying to raise awareness of the damaging affects of plastic in our oceans, everywhere I look now there's plastic and other forms of rubbish everywhere other than a bin. 😔😩😬
“These plant-based straws could be safer for oceans and marine animals. Made out of sugar cane, coffee grounds, and bamboo, they could be tastier, too 🐠 Follow the link in bio to learn more about plastic’s effects on the environment 🔗(via @nowthisnews
By 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean. Together, let's reduce our plastic footprint.
Plastic is the real killer? Double tap if you agree... ☝🏼👍🏼
We should never underestimate the impact of our own actions. Change is something that we are all in control of, and it starts with each and every one of us! ♻️
You are amazing. Never underestimate the power you have to achieve great things! ⭐️

We’re finally ready for you Instagram! Plastic straws suck, paper straws suck even more, and how the heck do you clean a reusable straw? Pasta straws are the last, best, most fun, and truly zero waste alternative to plastic straws!
What's annoying is they've had the ability to switch to plant-based straws and packaging for a long time now. Like decades. I think the only reason companies aren't making changes fast is because they aren't as aesthetically pleasing. .
The straws are made from coffee grounds sugar cane and bamboo btw. Central and South America and Asia should be rich if they're supplying the demand for this material. Could make cups, plates and utensils, packaging for groceries like meat and milk and juice from this too. Even for toys or batteries or whatever. No reason plastic waste has to happen anymore. And if plastic eventually becomes rarely used, the government won't have to worry about recycling many plastics anymore which frees up a good portion of taxes.
